Rincewind Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Got two bottles of Xmas beers. Black Sheep and another. Hang on. Abbot Ale. Plus I have some Sainsbury's 2.1 cheap crap if I run out. So far no invites for Xmas day so will have to take a break at the shop tomorrow to get Xmas stuff in. Said I'd go in Boxing day as well so won't want much. Might be able to get some sell by date discount stuff.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Wolf Blass Sparkling Pinot noir Chardonnay from my work Xmas hamper.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Sure, rub everyone else's noses in it. We had a bottle of red and white last year. This went down quite well.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Actually, the old xmas hamper used to be a common thing, can remember my dad (who was a hosiery mechanic) used to get one every year. Until you just mentioned it I assumed it was a think of the past, but seems it's merely reserved for bourgeoisie.
stix Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 My old man brought home a Fortnum & Mason xmas hamper this year. Really expensive apparently, full of utter shite! The sort of jars that you find right at the back of the cupboard when you move house!
stix Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Any Piccalilli? I love that shit. Yep, i'll drop it round El. Rancid
casablancas Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 campo viejo rioja reserva 2007. With a sliver of good cheese. Nom nom nom

Jon the Hat Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 campo viejo rioja reserva 2007. With a sliver of good cheese. Nom nom nom Not a bad drop. I got a load of the normal one for a fiver a pop last week, which sorted out the presents for my team nicely. These things you do when you have a couple of people working for you get rather more pricey when you have twelve.

Too good a wine to miss at that price however it does give me a fat head in the morning .
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Lots and lots of rum. I always knew FoxyPV was a pirate!
Unabomber Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Chimay Bleu. 3rd in a row - mouth's really drying up now. lovely drink
The Doctor Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 I'd heard that you should put a touch of still water into malt to release the flavours so I tried that the other night. I think it did improve it a little. What does everybody else do? yep, a drop of Spring water - not tap shit, does release a few more flavours, all the better for it. Anyway, I've made my mulled cider, and I'm currently enjoying that - very orang-y taste.
I am Rod Hull Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Amaretto and coke now. Port and cheery brandy later.
