No. He wasn't in the team. I saw him 15 minutes before kick-off going into the ground. I asked him when he thought he'd be back in the team and he said "if the team keep winning what can I do?"

I think that's realistic, who knows with Dyer looking jaded and Gradel not shining when he came on maybe he'll get some game time in the cup on Wednesday.

I thought Gradel did as much in his short time as Dyer did all match. His problem was that his colleagues had largely stopped making forward runs so he was sometimes taking possession but without any sort of support.

Being fair to the team I don't know if they were told to stop getting forward forward or they were simply running out of gas after all the excellent closing down they'd done.

Whatever, Gradel still looked full of life and tricks. I just wish he'd get the goal he needs.

Even at half-time in City's match yesterday, the club came out with all that speel about taking responsibility for the young players, even those who might be struggling.

But as I look at it Porter missed the whole of last season and is now having another one wilfully ruined at a vital stage of his development. If they don't want to play him they should let him go on loan as he's asked.

And I don't mean in the occasional meaningless cup match either.

For all Gradel's limitless ability and for all that Dyer remains a hero despite weeks of indifferent form, Porter is still as good as either.

Money isn't everything. As an Academy graduate, City also have a responsibility for his career. And, in as many words, they admitted it yesterday.

And with the 'great players' the A-League has, Levi would obviously make the team for once.

And if he came to Melbourne, I MIGHT actually go watch a game.

His wages have nothing to do with this and I am quite sure wages have nothing to with Porter wanting to go on loan.

I wonder how you would have fancied a season out injured and then being sidelined for the next season as well.

If Leicester City can't use the lad for whatever reason they should allow him chance to play some matches and perhaps rebuild his career elsewhere.

Inded can't see what his wage-payers have to gain from his being idle either.

I was at St.Andrews football ground today to support my brother at a tournament and who was there? Little Levi!

Yes, he is still alive, said hello to him and he looks well physically. He's bulked up considerably, still not grown much though (apart from a sort of afro).

He's going to fall out of the football league like Jon Stevenson and Stuart Wilson etc. Clearly has an attitude problem and doesn't want to knuckle down to earn the right to play for the team.

He's one of those people you both envied and despised as a kid - clearly he had some talent to make it as a professional, but he doesn't have the brain or level of maturity to understand his responsibilities as a footballer. He's only got himself to blame for his inevitable failure. Injuries happen to all footballers, it's how you deal with them that separates the dedicated professionals from the freeloaders.

Few of us believe the real reasons for Psssh's being sidelined have anything to do with football but I don't for one minute believe he's historically had a bad attitude or lack of dedication towards the game.

He was a first choice for our Academy, reserves and finally our first team for years and always looked fit enough to give the imprssion he'd been training properly so that hardly smacks of a "bad" attitude generally.

I also know a former girlfriend of his who, even after they split up, never had a bad word to say about him, as a footballer or a person, that I heard.

When I see the likes of Barton and Hughes still wearing the shirt of a professional footballer I'm damned sure I cannot imagine what Psssh's done that's so unforgiveable. Plenty of kids around his age make bad choices without being given what's amounted to a competitive cold shoulder for a season.

you haven't answered the point though, seeing as you said Neilson is a bad signing as he has no pace and therefore MUST be shit, surely by that criteria, P0rter must be shit as well...

Or are you finally admitting you stick to your "chosen men" more then you accused Levein/Kelly/Holloway of doing and change the rules of the argument to suit the player in question?

If he can't get into a league one side, then sell sell sell, despite all this talk of him being outstanding against chelsea (for about 1 minute) I've never seen anything to suggest that he will be a decent footballer.
