we were all really surprised that Tunchev was sold to your club and not to a bigger and better one
the fact that Tunchev isn't going to a big club

Thanks for rubbing our current situation in our face :D

@Daggers - Serbia and Bulgaria are neighboring countries, Belgrade and Sofia are just a couple of hours away, everyone around here knows good Serbian players and they know good Bulgarian players, while these players usually go under the radar of western european clubs..

I'm fully aware of the geography, thank you.

Mandaric is a Serb-American who spends his working life commuting across the Atlantic and indulges himself in the world of electronics. What he knows about players from Bulgaria could probably be written on the back of a British Airways First Class hot towel cellophane wrapper. His country of birth has nothing to do with this.

So there's absolutely no chance he could have contacts who alerted him to CSKA's situation? I doubt it.

Tunchev certainly thinks he has signed!

Natsionalat Alexander Tunchev said to "Channel 3" that does not accept his transfer to Leicester in England is considered a rescue from CSKA. ". Branitelyat to end today in Bulgaria after yesterday signed by "foxes".

"I do not agree to transfer my Leicester as a rescue from CSKA. Normal is still anyone to think about their future. What happened in CSKA is more than enough. I hope everything there to make", commented Tunchev.

"England is England, even in this first division, which is our third. Kishishev In terms of football there was better than this with us. Such Stadium as Leicester have, in Bulgaria have no - even the National," said more zhelezniyat defender

Agree, but I believe there is a good chance that Mandaric knows a dodgy agent or two, who could have brought Tunchev to his attention.

On a side note, how big is a British Airways First Class hot towel cellophane wrapper actually.....? And don't you need a special pen to write on that cellophane stuff....?

@Babylon, I didn't mean to say anything bad about Leicester lol...it's just that we expected the best Bulgarian defender to play in the Premiership or at least in the Championship. I have nothing against Leicester, as a matter of fact I don't even know where the team is positioned in League One...

@Daggers, so the fact that the owner is a Serb-American leaves no chance of him knowing or having contacts with some of the best former Serbian players and current coaches (like the one who coached CSKA a couple of years ago)? And don't forget another name - Radostin Kishishev, the word travels fast nowadays, CSKA is a big club, as soon as we lost our license many teams made inquiries about different players, it's a small world

We just got relegated to league one this year, it's our first season ever in this division. We were in the premier league about 5 years ago and Europe about 10 years ago. Our stadium holds 32,000 people and we averaged about 24,000 last season even though we were rubbish, and have been for 4 years. On some occasions we were getting bigger crowds than some premier league teams.

We have a rich owner who will fund transfers because he wants to get to the premier league (so he can sell us for a profit!!) We probably had one of the biggest budgets in the championship last year, this year we definitely will have the largest in league one. We are a decent sized club who have suffered years of mismanagement (similar to yourselves). If we can get back on track, it might turn out to be a good move for the lad... he will be getting paid well anyway!!

@Babylon - yeah, I've heard about Leicester in the past, it's a known club here, people in Bulgaria follow UK football a lot. Hopefully you guys will be back in the Premiership in a couple of years...if you keep signing players like Tunchev that day will come rather soon than later. I like your stadium, it's probably better than any stadium we have over here...

@Nathko - it's official, I saw him on TV, he's back in Bulgaria at the moment, he confirmed that he has signed with Leicester and said that playing in England is always great, regardless of the League he's playing in. So congratulations and good luck to our boy!

@lavrentis - cheers!

so that probably means he won't be in training tomorrow and therefore will not be announced?

@sham - I have no idea...he might go back to England tomorrow morning to be announced, it's a 3 hour flight. When does the League One season start? Does it start at the same time the Premiership season starts?

league one commences on the 9th of august where as the premiership is a week later. As pre-season training started last week i would've expected him to be attending training from tomorrow onwards.

Hot towels on BA in First Class are not those cellophane-wrapped wipes they give out in economy but proper hot flannels - no wrapping!

(PS I only know this from business travel!!!)

He might be going back today to say bye to his family and friends and to get his stuff and then come back tommorow to be unveiled

Actually kind of makes sense!

And you're an expert on Milans business contacts and player knowledge because...

That's not my point - did I claim to be an "expert"?

The implication that this is occurring because of the proximity of his place of birth to their country is what I am questioning. It is a simple little point, it is no big deal.
