i know its still early and i knows its been done before where teams have messed it up but really does anyone beleive we can be caught i just cant help but think that we have this in the bag and next season we will be playing in the championship with the team morale being so good and we are playing proper football for once i can be really proud to say i support the mighty lcfc

I'm not saying we're up til we're up.

for the last few seasons in league one the top team has been 10 ahead and fallen drastically.

We've lost tunch and davies and may well have to scrap out a few shit wins in order to cement our promotion.

Forest shat the league 2 years in a row then both times ended up in the playoffs, hopefully if we can hold on til mid-march it should be done and dusted.

I didn't see many signs of proper football the last time we were in the Championship, it was mostly hoof and 10 men behind the ball. Defences and strikers might be weaker in this league but i have the over all impression that more teams have tried to play it on the deck than I saw in the Championship.

As for messing this up - of course we can, it's easier to mess it up than it is to succeed.

What I do find funny is how people think that because next season our morale will be sky high, we'll probably finish in the top six.

Yep, i'm sure we could lose the confidence after a bad start to the season.

Yep. Agree with your thoughts. People think it will be a stroll next year just because we might get promoted. Its rare that this happens, as we saw with Hull and Bristol City, but it's unlikely we will do it. We need to continue rebuilding and get players strong enough for Championship, as I don't think some of them will cut it next year.

But the original post is complacency at its optimum.

I can see us messing up today but we will get promoted as champions - of that I have no doubt.

As for the standard of football, yes defenses are weaker, but the actual play is on a par, if not better than most championship teams.

The football at the walkers this season where teams have had a go has been far more easier on the eye than watching the likes of 'big clubs' in the championship playing hoofball.

The biggest challenge for us next season is to continue to play as we have been this season, rather than to succumb to the hoofball that the majority of championship teams play.

It's bad enough when people venture their opinions after watching a match on tele - but to posit your thoughts on the back of never having been to a match? That's funny.

It's akin to a virgin giving out sex advice.

I was starting to feel confident... now loads of people are saying "it's in the bag" makes me nervous. We could easily cock this up and nobody should be saying things like "it's in the bag" with so many points still to play for.

Nah, we won't mess it up, it's in the bag.

Why do you find it funny?

Lets look at some examples...

Swansea, MK Dons and Peterborough all got promoted last year and at the moment are all on course to at least have a place in the play-offs. They've come up with confidence and kept that going throghout the season. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule, but I'm pretty sure it's an aid.

Look at teams that come down after having a shit season like Derby, they're really struggling and don't look like doing anything this season.

I think it's a valid point.

Come on everybody SHOUT like f--k today and get behind the team please no more doom & gloom we have had enough of that over that last few years.I am very optimistic that we will piss this leaque by at least 10 points.

SHOUT.SHOUT.LET IT ALL OUT.

It's the basic DNA of a Leicester fan -best to just have a little doubt in the back of the mind!! It's not that we have messed it up in the past now is it? A lot of folk are definitely half empty kind of people but no - I think the way we're playing and the make up of the squad is good enough to go all the way.

I don't think we doubt that. We know we are good enough. It's just that we have so long to go, and with teams sussing out how we play, it will be harder this side of the season.

What a pointless thread this is.

Obviously we can still mess it up the seasons not over yet, its just highly unlikely we will.

To mess this up we will have to go on a losing streak of 8+ games, and unless the team coach crashes and half the squad are killed, i cant see it happening.

Anything is possible but I think that injuries to key players to the style we play may weaken our chances. I think Fryatt has been brought back in haste and is not as fit as he was. Dickov is well passed it and I would feel really secure about it if we signed a forward.

Don't you reckon it's sad for a 16 year old to be telling a forty something year old to grow up?

I do.

any of the sides below us would have to put an incredible run together ( 2 sides if we are not to be in the first 2) in order to overturn our lead +1point to negate the goal difference. We would also have to start losing every other game and drawing most of the rest in all probability.

I'm not saying it's impossible but it really doesn't look likely being as how none of our rivals appear able to put consistent performances and results together.

Also NP does not strike me as the sort of manager who would allow it all to go tits up and would ensure it didn't
