AjcW Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Fiver say's he doesnt score in either game? Ill have a piece of that action. Cant wait for tomorrows game, as a fan of both barca and inter I really dont know were to place my support, I think i will just enjoy what should be a very entertaining game.
Fox You Forest Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Ronaldo scored a world class free kick for Madrid Just seen it on SSN, that kind of goal still gives me hope of playing at a high level.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Interesting article in today's Guardian about the necessity for a group stage. Must say I think it'd be much more interesting as a sporting spectacle if it was just a pure two-legged knockout format from the off. But then again, I suppose UEFA and the big European clubs have their reasons...
Shrenchel Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Wish they had some highlights on tonight as well, looong.
Darkzzz_ Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Just seen it on SSN, that kind of goal still gives me hope of playing at a high level. I think you could cut the mustard at FC Zurich!
Tommeh Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Fiver say's he doesnt score in either game? As agreed, yes.
leicesterfox86 Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Just watching the highlights now after getting back from the City game.Ronaldo scored a world class free kick for Madrid, still nice to see their dodgy defence exists!! Good start for the English sides too. Solid start yea, nothing spectacular. It is all about the three points at this stage of the competition though. 1-0 victories are just what the doctor ordered for Ferguson and Ancelotti. Professional displays (even if United weren't that great) which result in a winning start. Do we think any of the English teams can win it this year though? Of course, they all have a chance, but I think it might actually be Chelsea's year.. It's about time they won it really and with Ancelotti in charge they have a great chance. Seems as though some football pundits agree that Chelsea are one of the favourites to win the Champions League as well, although this article suggests that Real Madrid are even more likely to succeed in Europe. Money talks I suppose!

Money talks I suppose! I think Chelsea will win it too. I guess you just never know, you can't rule out anyone, Barca, Madrid, United, Inter, Liverpool are amongst the favourites too. I would like to see Inter go further this time, they certainly have a man who has been there and done it and scored in both the finals he has played in, Eto'o could be the winner tonight you know, I can see him causing Barca some problems. With the money Madrid have spent they should be looking for a clean sweep this season, if they win it, we will all be saying how "money talks" (which it does) and if they don't win it some of us will be laughing at their failure, credit where it is due though, they have looked decent so far, they will outscore teams, but a difficult challenge in Barcelona or one of the English sides could see them come unstuck. Oh and I hail Pippo Inzaghi this morning, there is no getting away from the fact that Milan are dreadful, but for his age, Pippo is in great shape and a born predator, his second goal last night shown that much.
Uncle Albert Posted 16 September 2009 Author Posted 16 September 2009 Liverpool 4-0 hopefully, Gerrard and Torres to get on the scoresheet.
lildave3 Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 I love the Champions League being back. Me too.
Joe. Posted 16 September 2009 Posted 16 September 2009 Should be routine for Liverpool tonight, going for 3-0 personally. Torres will bag at some point.
