Some of you don't get it, and I'm glad.

For me this was a great season - not the quality of the football but the quality of the days out it gave. I'm glad there's thousands of moaning bastards who stopped coming, I'm delighted that I haven't had to read shit about us in Europe - I don't give a toss about the Premiership or the European Cup.

This was a season of real football only cocked up by our playing well. The winning gets a bit dull after a while and I don't need it to fill a void in my life just like I don't need to compete with Man U fans on the workplace playground.

If you didn't get any joy from Yeovil away or Hartlepool away then you really are a sad f@ck. If you didn't go then I'm wondering why you have an opinion.

Aye, unfortunately I haveñt been in England for most of the season so have more or less missed what will probably be the most enjoyable one we will have for a while but from the two games I went to there did not seem to be nearly so many wankers about. Even the home game. My old man likes to sit in the graveyard part of the east stand, when I sit with him its usually unbearable because win, lose or draw the constant whinging from the ****** around him makes me want to hurt things. The game I went to this season they all seemed to have dissapeared, lets hope they enjoy their saturday afternoons at B&Q so much they never come back.

Good for actually getting back to winning ways and giving us something to beproud of.

Bad for EVER getting in this dire division in the first place.

However after struggling in CChip for the last 4-5 years we may have needed this as a kick up the arse.

Just hope we dont return to CChip as another struggling relegation battling team, like we were before we got relegated.

My best season was when we won the Cup at hillsboro!!!! :scarf:

Rarely agree with him but he's right. That season was great. Finishing 9th and winning something worth winning. Anyone who went to the Ipswich or Wimbledon in the cup will understand why. Graysons header or Robins turn Volley :D

:P Sorry, but your right about that season. Ive got the highlights of that season on video. Always remember the Blackburn game. Last game of the season and Heskey scored a belter and we took loads to Ewood that day. Even the mighty Stuart Wilson scored that day ! My dad caught Kellers shirt at the end aswell. USA USA USA !

Maybe the opposition has been poor at times, but I have actually enjoyed this season unlike the previous few when we have started the season in a optimistic frame of mind only to find ourselves in a relegation dogfight by Christmas.

Anyone who hasn't enjoyed this season is in denial about how bad the last few seasons in the championship were.

Been a quality season, its just been a joy to win away from home.

I doubt I will be paying 10 pound for an away ticket next year on a terrace on a Monday night.

The only thing I haven't really enjoyed is some of the home games, but Peterbourgh, Hudders and Dons were still good to go too.

As a Foxile...it has been a CRAP season, not a chance of seeing the game on telly, no reports, nothing in the papers, no interest from anyone other than the other 6 foxes fans across OZ. Being regulary laughed at by Covscum and Derby fans.

It is the 3rd fecking division, if you want "real football" you can watch a sunday league side.

The sooner we are out of this poxhole of a division and start toward returning to the premiership the better.

I find it difficult to really get excited about winning a title, when its the 3rd Division, to think about people who complained about competing in the "paint tin cup" now celebrating our glorious league winning team of 09.....bah..humbug!

 Spot on !This season has been the best for me(at home) due to the fact that the twat in front of me didn't renew and we've not all been subjected to his opinions! Also seeing Dagenham come up here and give it a real go was a highlight.

Really?

That does come as a surprise.

I agree with you, we've had some top days out, but we also had many tops days out last year, only difference being we seem to win games this year! I still think last season was a good season, despite relegation. I really enjoyed it. Actually playing against some proper teams, not all the small-time clubs we have in this league.

Home games must be so dire though, I've done 2 maybe. Don't know, don't care. But having less than 500 away fans and still a large proportion of mongrels I dread to think how bad they've been.

I see what you mean, but I still wouldn't class this as real football. Players are still earning way in excess, tickets are still (In most cases) too dear and the quality is neither here nor there. It's been an experience, but I'm glad it's going to be over soon.

I guess I just don't like Leicester playing 3rd/4th Divison small clubs really. Nothing against those clubs either & We aren't a big club (And no we're not MASSIVE either :P), but we are a hell of a lot bigger than this division. Credit to all the players for getting us out of this shite.

23 unbeaten games sounds brilliant, but against who? All nomarks who should never be on our radar.

Agree completely.

I haven't been arrogant all season but seriously, this league is ridiculously shit. Some lovely grounds I've visited, I've had some fantastic days out (Cheltenham springs to mind) but I never want to be in this league ever again, it's embarrassing.

I can't wait to get back to the Championship. A nice mid table finish next season would be nice.

Yep. this division may have been more interesting to me if the standard was better, but honestly the opposition has been poor. If that means that a good few fellow fans have been impressed then great, I though believe that this is still our worst finish to a season in 125 years! Our worst finish EVER! I understand that people are happy at winning, that is natural, & LCFC can only beat who they are put against and nothing since last season can change that. I don't feel that there has been some magnificent achevement in winning this division though. As impressive as it "sounds" 23 league games unbeaten is if I am honest more of an expectation rather than a wonderful achevement.

Congratulations must go to Nigel Pearson for getting a team of players who are clearly better than the rest of this league to be consistent and perform to a standard of average or above which a bigger team like Leeds has failed to master for 3 seasons on the trot. Forest needed 3 seasons to get out of this division & they scraped that on the last day with 82 points. Man City finished in last place in the playoff positions to go up. I don't hear them crowing about these achevements, I hear relief.

That is what I am relieved that the professionalism shown by Leicester's Management, Staff & players have led us back to civilisation and a more respectable place to play football. Hopfully Leicester build on this "success?" and retain their status in the championship first of all, then Milan can spout his mouth with talk of Premiership promotion & his 3 year plan which I believe is about a month off yet.

Well done Nige but the job is by a very long way not done yet.

OK, this league is full of shit teams, so what?

I think the Championship is full of boring long-ball nonce teams who all think they deserve to be in the Premiership. The only three teams I'd pay more than a fiver to see in the CCC (without Leicester) are Sheff Weds, Donny and Swansea. The latter two were both promoted from this 'pile of shit' and didn't really strengthen.

If you can't enjoy your team winning and sitting top of the league, what's the point in being a fan?

Exactly. I've loved this season - every single away day has been a treat so far, even the likes of Brighton and Rotherham away were special for one reason or another. Yeah there were some good memories from last season but I also think of the shambolic atmosphere at Wolves and the even worse one at Southampton in the mid-week game. There were too many games and away days last season that felt like it was becomming a chore to go and watch my team in action.

This season, the fan base seems to have become closer and there are a lot more regulars, not just from off here, that you can have a laugh with and genuinely enjoy the entire experience even if the result isnt great. I never expected to enjoy the prospect of Yeovil away on a monday night in January but it turned into being one of my favourite ever away games.

League one is like the season long break that we needed to recharge the batteries before getting back to the reality of competing at the higher levels. It's felt like a holiday down here and frankly it's what I needed to restore my love for the club and the game itself once more. If we hadn't got relegated, there's no way I would have even contemplated doing every game this season but as it is, I've wanted to be there for every kick of the ball no matter who the opposition are.

To me a victory over a league 1 team is a little achevement, where as when we beat Barnsley away it was wonderful! A victory should mean something, lets suggest you had to put a price or value on a victory in League 1, it would in my eyes be alot cheaper than a victory in the Championship! That essentially is my point, and the best way to describe it as I deal in value.

A victory in the championship is valuable, to be enjoyed, because the achievement was far greater than a victory in League 1.

In the same way a loss in the Championship can be justified, I.E better team on the day won, where as in this division Millwall and Brighton won because of our failings rather than their superior quality.

Think you got my point wrong, I've enjoyed this season a lot, but I wouldn't call it our best season ever.

Barnsley! lol You could have at least said West Brom!

I don't see a difference personally Tom. In my opinion, a win is a win, every single one means something to me. Do you feel because we've won 22 league games this season that they're not important because victories in the CCC were rare and therefore of more value to you?

What happens if we storm the league next season, will it not be an achievement because victories in the Premiership are of lot higher value?

Think you got my point wrong, I've enjoyed this season a lot, but I wouldn't call it our best season ever.

I wasn't picking up on your point Andy. Without a doubt it's not the club's best season ever, but personally it's my favourite ever. I was too young to remember and really enjoy the European games or the play-off wins, and perhaps even our last promotion. To me, this is the first achievement that City have won that I feel part of, and for that reason it's special for me.

So a win in this division counts for nothing, even though it means coming a step closer to automatic promotion?

Just because a m*ther****ing superpower like Barnsley play in the Championship and Cheltenham don't?

There are dire teams in every league, not just the Third Division.

What you do as part of an away following is up to you and doesn't depend on what league you're playing in.

Either you want and can create atmosphere or you don't - be it Plymouth or Yeovil.

And what is it that makes some people still believe we're entitled to claim to be better than other teams? Just because we're playing attractive and successful football for the first time in about ten years?

I just don't get some of you moaners.

We could well be extinct by now (remember the spirit of 2002?) and there's Leicester City fans who do nothing but talk this situation worse than it actually is.

The days out I've had this season, although not as many as I'd have liked, have been absolutely ****ing superb. Even the midweek defeat at Brighton, if only for the trip down there. Certainly beat the trip to Southampton away last season.

For me, I'm sort of glad we've had this season because the team have rediscovered how to win games and they've had a season to gel together before they have to battle and compete next season in the Championship.

I don't want to stay in this league for more than this season, but I certainly wouldn't mind visiting some of the sheds I've missed out on this season in the early rounds of the cup competitions. Much rather them than Arsenal away or a nomark Premiership team like Middlesborough or Wigan.

Awayers are what you make of them. A lot tend to be more enjoyable and memorable for the company you surround yourself with at the game rather than the actual game itself. But the fact we've actually played decent stuff this season and won games has only added to the enjoyment factor for me. Better than watching us go and play away in the Championship, create no chances, get stuffed and have a flat atmosphere anyway.

We'll be in a much better position to attack that league next season, hopefully the club can carry its momentum forward into the next campaign and the fans can replicate what they've done this season regardless of how we perform.

Posted

As much as running away with the league has been fun - and whatever anyone says it's been great to be unbeatable even in this shithole division - I can't wait to renew aquaintances with 20 odd other teams on our level. Teams like Forest, Derby, Coventry and all the others averaging 20000+ who think they belong a division higher.

It's been a great season but not our best season. We'll have that when we win the FA Cup, or the next time we survive in the Prem because let's face it. Even our unbeatables are a world away from the bottom half of the top flight.
