Millwall post match

Classic. Really cracking weekend in the big smoke.

And yeah, I see all of those faces at every away game, not just Millwall away. Stone Island family day out. The dads with kids all in "casual clobber" make me laugh. Hope you got the tear-up you were after.

I also enjoyed the teenage girls taking videos on their mobiles of the "escort". Somehow I doubt Smuts is going to make it into Footballs Hardest Away Days.

The MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Sideways Cockney Shuffle is definitely going to find its way into my repertoire of dance moves. Their hooligans at London Bridge were like a demented version of Right Said Fred doing a lop-sided moonwalk on a travelator.

Don't know if its been said, but on a millwall fan forum they reckoned about a 150 strong mob were battling with the police... bottles being thrown etc... they needed the horses to calm it down and all that.

Thats why we took so long to ger out it seems

I said it in the other thread

I also said the nit about the steward.

How annoying was that little kid on the front row. My god, i never thought such an insignificant little shite could be so annoying.

He was very funny tbh.

I think Nige liked that win.

Extreme surfing.

Yesterday was superb. A top day out and result.

Got the 8:53 am train and had a few bottles of beer on the way down, followed by a stupid amount of vodka at Spoons. As Daggers has already mentioned, Alex fancied pissing us off by leading us on a bit of a farcical journey; I just wanted more beer quick!:P

As for the game itself, I felt Millwall rarely threatened and we were in control for the main part. They're a fairly direct side, typified by their reliance of long balls down the channels, which almost caught out a complacent Morrison in the second half. In truth it could have been more than just the one as we carved them open on a couple of occasions.

Maybe that defeat at Tranmere gave us a good kick up the arse after a few stuttering performances recently. It was a terrific response away at one of the toughest games of the season - even more so after beating us at our place.

Barry Hayles was immense when he came on yesterday; my favourite moment came from when he beat his man down the left with a nifty bit of play. Good old Bazza.

I love London away days. :D

Started out getting on the wrong train at 9:25, getting a poor mcdonalds then moving into Spoons to meet up with everyone else. Then the match itself was brilliant, thought it was a good atmosphere tbh. Loved the MILLLLLLLLLL thing. Then being kept behind in the ground and singing to Barry and others - quality. Then being kept behind outside the ground singing and discoing - quality :D.

After match drinks at a Spoons was quality too, and then an epic train journey on the way back. Whole carriage to ourselves, we had a bit of fun. Conga for the champions and numerous other things. Very enjoyable.

I'd love to know how much today's game cost to police. The cavalry were literally out in force, so too the foot soldiers (Regular police, Railway Police and Stewards) and, looking down from the station to the townscape below it was rather like seeing a miniature army strategically assembled for battle.

Would it be an exaggeration to suggest that 300 police were involved in the ground, outside the ground and at the stations and on the trains?

The other week I was looking to see how many fans Leeds took to Millwall, and I found this article which refers to the Millwall-Leeds game last season.

The operation by numbers

375 - Metropolitan Police officers on duty, plus support from the British Transport Police and Yorkshire Police

30 - Millwall fans detained to prevent a breach of the peace

14 - arrests (both clubs) with more to follow when video footage is studied

500 - approximate number of banning orders in place on Saturday

8 - weeks spent planning the security operation

I'd imagine it'd be something similar with us. What a waste of police time and effort, just kick 'em out of the league ffs.

I think of how much I loved Cheltenham home and away, and how much respect I have for their supporters - I have none for Millwall.

The entire club is rotten, while every other club in the football hierarchy has (to a greater extent) successfully tackled the hooligan cancer, Millwall continues to be a blight on the national game. You just know that their 'investigation' will come to nothing and that every big club travelling their will end up experiencing the same as we did. It is taken as read that they will continue to export violence and destruction to clubs across the land because they sell tickets to these pricks with ears.

Why?

Why don't they get severely hit financially and docked points every single time this happens? Why doesn't the football community force them into acting?

Don't know if its been posted but:

Millwall Football Club has responded to incidents of missile throwing during Saturday's League One clash with Leicester City by condemning the actions of a handful of people who threw objects towards the pitch.

Such actions do nothing but damage the reputation of this club and its fans. It can only be detrimental to both following all the positive work undertaken on and off the pitch in recent years.

The club will be doing everything in its power to help identify and prosecute the offenders and would ask all decent fans to assist us by calling or texting anonymously to 07765 465 748.

Gary Alexander is a very good player, btw.

I thought he was a utter donkey.

for what it's worth, the noise in the second half was almost drowning out stringer on the wireless...so well done to you guys for one of the best singing performance i've heard in a while

:chant:

Quality!

It's so quiet

It's so quiet

It's so quiet - at the Den

It's so quiet

It's so quiet

It's so quiet - at the Den

:giggle: I had a few fellas behind me who started that. I think was stood near a lot of FT'ers. The atmosphere was lively and did wake us up. But deary me, Millwall talk about a club living with it's reptuation. On getting there I was gestured at by a 5 yr old and his grandad. Absolutely pathetic if you are going down the football just to gesture and posture.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :giggle:

Played well, esp. second half. Best performance since Walsall away. Oakley and Cleverley earned their cob. As did, Hobbs.
