Leicfox Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 What I gathered from the incessant coverage of her was that she was more concerned with raising money for her kids and tying up loose ends than spreading awareness and raising money to combat the disease for future generations. I think it's a bit rich to imply Goody was some sort of hero for bringing cervical cancer to the attention masses when it's actually just because of the obsessive celebrity culture that prevails in this country. I'd go along with that. It does seem though that it takes a death of someone in the public eye to wake the attention masses up, ala Roy Castle.
Uncle Albert Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 There was a point in Jade Goody's life that I thought she was banging fit.
Alexikokopops Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 There was a point in Jade Goody's life that I thought she was banging fit. The latter stages, right?
Daggers Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 I will miss her. I haven't been able to post because I've simply been too choked up. There's not a moment goes by when I don't wonder how this silly little world couldn't have been improved if she had been allowed to stay alive. Why God? Why? Damn you, why do the good and talented ones always get taken young? I hope they rename Mother's Day 'Jade Goody Singlehandedly Saves The World From Cancer Day'. It would be the only fitting tribute. That, and a national day's holiday.

JakeShingler Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 Can we close this thread now tis all to boring.
Uncle Albert Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 The latter stages, right? Nah the latter stages werent really a turn on but if the offer was there then why not?! I may of got an interview with the Daily Mirror from it so... But when she had just opened her own beauty shop I thought she was pretty fit, shame really.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/20...ody-ok-magazine I love OK Magazine. For me, it's right up there with Mein Kampf
Daggers Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 I haven't stopped crying for a second: Truly, a star as bright as Princess Diana has been put out. Nothing left but a waxy Jade residue on the candlestick of z-list popular culture. I welcome OK's coverage of her death, I managed to share the experience as it has made me feel as if a part of me has been dying too. Thank God for OK magazine and their easy access subscription service so that I may never miss any future celebrity deaths.

ASH17LCFC Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Even i think this is turning into a badly taste thread. Ok you didn't have to like her but mocking someone who died isn't right. Some people are showing their true colours on here and i've lost a alot of respect for some people but none for daggers because i respect Student blur fans more then him.
ASH17LCFC Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Oh no.... Its time for the Romeo show ?

Guest Bilo Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 I don't think anyone could have accused her of that.. She was actually a genius Ultra. She's laughing at us all from heaven for thinking she was thick and buying into it for seven years. Don't you know anything?
Guest Bilo Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 I'm sure there will still be stories in the papers about this come Sunday. News of the World Commemorative Souvenir Edition. Out this Sunday.
