Matt Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Now let her RIP, I wasn't her biggest fan at all, but obviously did feel sorry for her and her family - But I do for anyone and any family that is going through the same, I understood and was quite happy with the media stories she was doing - To make money for her family and boys, to hopefully give them the best future, although it did get abit tiring in the end, but alot of comments I read about it and people's view I read about her (I even read comments and heard people saying "I hope she dies soon") I just hope the media leave it now. RIP
Thracian Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Now let her RIP, I wasn't her biggest fan at all, but obviously did feel sorry for her and her family - But I do for anyone and any family that is going through the same, I understood and was quite happy with the media stories she was doing - To make money for her family and boys, to hopefully give them the best future, although it did get abit tiring in the end, but alot of comments I read about it and people's view I read about her (I even read comments and heard people saying "I hope she dies soon") I just hope the media leave it now.RIP I don't know how she did it but she'll leave her kids with a lot more financial support than I'll ever manage so well done to the lass. Even so I feel for her young uns. But they'll never forget her. From such a short life she certainly left some impact behind her. At least she's away from pain and indignity now. RIP
Shrenchel Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 The OK! obituary issue thing pretty much drained the last bit of respect I had for her but it's not nice to see any mother die before her kids, hope they'll be alright.
Stuliasz Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 She managed to raise awareness amongst the public for the need for smear testing at an earlier age and caused a government review into the procedure so whatever the ethics are behind all of the publicity she has done some good. Not a fan of her 'career' before that though but at least it has left her kids with a secure future.
Asha Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I never liked her, but no-one deserves to die at such a young age. Thoughts are with her two children.
StanSP Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 R.I.P. Never liked her. What a day to go as well - Mother's Day. Feel sorry for her children especially, as well as the rest of her family.
AjcW Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 The OK! obituary issue thing pretty much drained the last bit of respect I had for her but it's not nice to see any mother die before her kids, hope they'll be alright. Did you get that a little bit wrong mate?? :S
Matt Posted 22 March 2009 Author Posted 22 March 2009 Did you get that a little bit wrong mate?? :S I don't think he meant it as if the mother dying before the kids (timewise) think he meant a mother dying before her kids eyes, but really it's not nice to see anyone dying in front of anyone, tbh.
Shrenchel Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Did you get that a little bit wrong mate?? :S Yes, yes I did.
Suffolk_fox Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 RIP - I just hope the media don't harp on about her like they did with Diana. Amazes me how quick the media can take someone from heroine to public enemy number 1 and then when they die more or less offer them sainthood - and the public just lap it up. fooking red top newspapers, wouldn't wipe my arse on them.
Poakey Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 She managed to raise awareness amongst the public for the need for smear testing at an earlier age and caused a government review into the procedure so whatever the ethics are behind all of the publicity she has done some good. Not a fan of her 'career' before that though but at least it has left her kids with a secure future. Agree with all that, never a fan but some good has come out of this. I just hope this thread dosen't turn out to be as vulgar as the last Jade thread.
MC Prussian Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 First case of Public Death? Poor kids, only got bits and pieces of info about Goody. Shame to die that young.
StanSP Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 First case of Public Death?Poor kids, only got bits and pieces of info about Goody. Shame to die that young. Most of that would have all been bad-natured and controversial too...
SamL Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 My thoughts echo what others have already said in this thread. I didn't particularly like her but it wasn't nice to see or hear about what she was going through. R.I.P Jade.
AmericanScott Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 RIP Jade Goody. My thoughts are with her family and friends. Especially her kids.
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I wasn't her biggest fan but at least she is free from pain now. What are the media going to do with themselves now?
maddog Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Always hated her but no one would wish that on anyone. She's certainly made the best of what little talent she has, hard to think of someone with such little talent, not even good looking, not very clever, making as much money as she has. The kids will be looked after well. RIP
fox123 Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Let's hope that all the media attention has done some good in getting the smear test age reduced, can't fault her for wanting to provide for her boys, though no amount of money can replace having lost a mother. Fair play for that, and I am sure if majority was in that situation they would have done the same, she has come from a background of nothing and not wanting the same for her two boys, well you can't blame her for that, however she has done it. Let's hope the boy's can try and live a relatively normal life, without the influence of a Mother in it. R.I.P.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 The worst possible day to die and surely even those who didn't like her will be saddened by this news. Whatever you may have thought of her decision to go so public with her cancer battle, the money made from that decision will help to give her children the kind of upbringing she never had. The publicity generated has led to a huge increase in women having check-ups and that will surely save lives, so in that sense Jade has done some good, even if it was inadvertently.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 But on a serious note.....who won the sweepstake? I do believe it was Smuts. But what does he win?
