Kilworthfox Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Theres a rumour that 2 premiership clubs are after him.I posted it in the premature thoughts for next season. Should be on the last page somewhere Here it is Newcastle and West Brom are fighting it out for the signature of £1m-rated Swindon striker Simon Cox. (News of the World) Premiership? Next season? Cox has options by the looks of things, but when I watched him, I too was impressed with his pace & movement. His record in a poor team is excellent, even in this division. I believe he can cut it in the championship, and if we could sign Tunch, anything is possible, I am just happy that we seem to be looking at the right players, even if we don't sign the. At least the days of crap -> poor signings look to be gone
Uncle Monty Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 PLEASE. SIGN. HIM.If we sign Lee Hughes, I'll shit on Pearson's windscreen. If we sign Simon Cox, I will offer my services as a male love slave to Nige and Milan free of charge. Similarly I will do the same.
Stuliasz Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 As much as I'd love us to sign him, the source of the story is probably people's opinions on here.
lavrentis Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Leicester are preparing a £2m swoop for Swindon's star striker Simon Cox. (Daily Mirror) God I hope this is true.
Tilley Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 I knew we had people watching him at the Northampton vs. Swindon game the other week. Would be a fantastic signing.
Walshy5 Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Ive been saying we should sign him for ages he,s better than fryatt imo
Kilworthfox Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Ive been saying we should sign him for ages he,s better than fryatt imo In addition to this statement, I would rather have £10 in my pocket than a penny
Fox in a Box Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Milan BUY Him with My money I have gave you upfront or else I will break you teeth!
BoneDog Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 I told ya we'd have about 4 mill to spend in the summer Yes

James. Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Go on Mandaric! If this lad proves himself in the Championship (assuming we go up, blah blah) then £2mm could look like an absolute steal if one of the big boys from the Premiership show interest in a season or two. Makes sense on and off the pitch.

If Mandick spends & spends to get us a genuine chance at promotion which co insides with his 3 year plan, I will take all the bad things I have said & written about him, and kiss his aged ballsack, as it stands £2m is a tip of an iceberg for LCFC to stand a chance of being genuine promotion contenders. We need an investments all over the park IMO. A decent start which I am happily suprised with, but lets sign him 1st.

Koke Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 I would come if Cox actually came to us, but I just think that he and his club believes he is too good for us. I also read somewhere else that Reading and Derby had a scout to watch him at Northampton.
maddog Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 The transfer window don't open for ages these rumours are silly. Or are you allowed to sign a player now, then he joins after the transfer window opens
Jimmy Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 you can sign a player when ever you want you just can't register him to play until the new transfer window
maddog Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 you can sign a player when ever you want you just can't register him to play until the new transfer window Sign him up now then!
Finnegan Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Don't understand the Fryatt statements. Firstly he offers something Fryatt doesn't really, with a bit of mobility, secondly you need more than two strikers in your squad anyway.

Id love to have them both but if Swindon would do a straight swap for Fryatt then i would take it
jonw88 Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 I can just imagine the OS statement if we actually bought him, something stupid like "Pearson sucks up Cox"...
Finnegan Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Id love to have them both but if Swindon would do a straight swap for Fryatt then i would take it Erm, but they won't... so... And if there's any truth in this then no doubt it's because Mandaric is looking to genuinely invest in the squad if we go up. Offloading Fryatt won't be good business sense on any level (unless we get a seriously healthy offer - as in, more than we'd pay for Cox.) We need a bigger squad with more strikers, not a smaller one with fewer.
