Joe. Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 It'd be a right coup if we could beat off the rest of the Championship.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 PLEASE. SIGN. HIM. If we sign Lee Hughes, I'll shit on Pearson's windscreen. If we sign Simon Cox, I will offer my services as a male love slave to Nige and Milan free of charge.
Tubes Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Wow. I think nearly everyone would be pretty damn chuffed with that.
Jimmy Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 chuck Matty in as a part ex-change, he isn't good enough for the Championship I was impressed with Simon Cox when we played them, quick, strong and scores a lot of goals

Can't believe there aren't bigger clubs than us looking for him. The Walsall striker who took their first goal looked disturbingly fast. Anyone know anything about him?
Zingari Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 hardly likely though http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009...ndon-hot-shot-s

There is,Everton are rumoured to be watching him and so are Sunderland.
StanSP Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Does he have proven experience in leagues higher than league one?

davieG Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Does he have proven experience in leagues higher than league one? Record
StanSP Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Record He played 6 games for Reading while they were in the Ch'ship during 05/06 season, scoring none, and 4 of those games were in League Cup.
Thracian Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 There is,Everton are rumoured to be watching him and so are Sunderland. Lots of clubs will have watched any striker who's as prolific as him. Who dares wins. No harm in making an offer and doing our best to get him. If you don't ask you've got no chance.

MC Prussian Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Sounds a bit strange to me. Too much of a similar player compared to Fryatt. Or does Pearson plan on doing a 4-3-3 for next season, with Howard providing headers for both sides now???
shiv Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 There is,Everton are rumoured to be watching him and so are Sunderland. as are newcastle

Too much of a similar player compared to Fryatt.Or does Pearson plan on doing a 4-3-3 for next season, with Howard providing headers for both sides now??? Good news if he's looking at players like Cox, as he could play with either Fryatt or Howard, I reckon - though not both at the same time or the midfield would be overrun in the Championship (if we're there, gulp!). I'd like to see both Fryatt and Howard stay, but couldn't see that partnership working in the Championship. The two of them in the squad together with a pacy goalscorer like Cox would create a few different options, though.

Theres a rumour that 2 premiership clubs are after him. I posted it in the premature thoughts for next season. Should be on the last page somewhere Here it is Newcastle and West Brom are fighting it out for the signature of £1m-rated Swindon striker Simon Cox. (News of the World)

Should be on the last page somewhere Here it is Newcastle and West Brom are fighting it out for the signature of £1m-rated Swindon striker Simon Cox. (News of the World) The good thing about newcastle and west brom is that in little over a month, we'll effectively be in the same division as them!
Guest Bilo Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 Newcastle and West Brom looking at him might not be a huge obstacle. With respect there's a strong chance they'll both be in the same division as us next season, unless our respective situations change dramatically. He's unlikely to get much of a chance at Everton coming straight from an average League One side either. We might not get him if we put a bid in, but we definitely won't get him if we don't. Like Thracian said, nothing ventured nothing gained.
