I would like to see Cox at city, but if west brom, everton and newcastle are all interested i would be very surprised if he joined us.

BBC say Swindon won't accept anything below £1m.

West Brom and us are the main teams in the running, but as someone said, other teams like Everton and Newcastle are also looking at him.

Love to get him, but don't want to get my hopes up just yet..

Cox is basically the player we all dream a certain Mr Fryatt was (ie quicker, with a slightly sharper touch and movement) and I think about 1.5m is perfectly fair based on the manlove all my Swindon supporting mates have for him. Doubt anyone bigger than championship would be interested so I guess there's a chance

Some speculation on Cox, plus some more from Bentley's Roof:

If Cox arrives, Fryatt's off - and Looney Toons will be expecting more dosh showing on the debit side of the balance sheet as a result of those two deals, to finance the permanent capture of Hobbs and Gilbert.

If that happens it's great business.

Martin (or Stockdale) and Cleverley will both return on season-long loans. They both love it here, and will play there hearts out for permanent deals.

All this having balanced the books only, we need to generate a cash cow to allow further influx.

I can therefore also see the departure of Mattock (this year with the blessing of most) to finance the capture of an experienced Div I/II (Prem/CCC) left back, and a highly influential m/fr.

This should leave a heavy residue in the pot, in which case expect the surprise delivery of someone like Beckford to spearhead back to back promotions.

Well that's how I'd do it anyway.

By the sounds of this speculation, it looks like a really neat squad for the upcoming Championship campaign. Talk about players who really like it here and identify with the club, the institution and the fans. Passion is back.

To be honest, Fryatt's seen a massive downfall ever since the start of the second half of the season and I wonder what he did to deserve League One Player of the Year credentials, as there were about three to four other guys in this league who are as good as him and have a similar, if not better scoring record - at least this award's probably going to raise his market value by another million or so, which is good business should we really sell him this summer. I know it sounds a bit harsh, but Fryatt's back where he was last season in the Championship. Can't put it in no more.

Yeah i'm feeling it too, maybe i'm just still running on the adrenaline from Monday, still. I'm trying not to get too excited for next season, but I really do feel good times are coming back, players want to play for us again, players enjoy it here, there is a spirit, there is a passion. All summed up by this quote from Pearson after Monday's game;

He added: "It was nice to see both Tom and Kerrea in the dressing room after the game. They have now returned to their respective clubs but they wanted to support the team. That speaks volumes for the camaraderie that we have created here."

Pearson seems to know how to spot a decent player and manage to get them in as transfer coups, However I do fear £2 million, don't know why, tbh though I don't know very much about this Simon Cox.

Thats my fear, and then £2 Million is a big price tag and thus add more pressure on Cox to perform causing him to probably flop. Sorry for my pessimistic view but IMO this has Matty Fryatt + Ade Akinbiyi = Simon Cox. (Matty Fryatt being everything listed in the above post, and Ade Akinbiyi with the big price tag that didn't help him).

I'm probably just talking shit, and hopefully I am proved wrong!

As I said though in my previous post I don't know a lot about this Simon Cox either tbh.

And on the other hand it buoys me that other big Championship clubs are showing interest in him so there obviously is something there catching the eye of these other clubs, I think the fear and gamble that I am seeing is just the fact we have had this situation happen many times at Leicester.

Well Ive only seen him play live once as far as I remember and thought he looked very impressive against us but its not enough to judge a player on so.... IF its the case then I'll trust NPs judgement on that.

With Campbell having a reasonable scoring record at Blackpool, maybe we could sell him too, although probably not for anywhere near what we paid for him.

If we do get him I hope he'll be better than ade and fryatt. However, u just have to look at billy sharpe to see that loads of goals in league 1 does not necessarily mean loads in championship
