Father Ted Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 My dad has always said that he wants us to play 'Highway to hell' at his funeral and for everyone to turn up in flowery shirts and to get pissed and have a great time.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 The Kinks-Death of a Clown Slick- Ashes to Ashes
General Smuts Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 I've been re-listening to a lot more Elliot Smith recently and i have to say 'A Fond Farewell' has to be the perfect funeral song.
Head Honcho Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 I'd probably go for Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni But this would be fun

AoWW Posted 19 November 2009 Posted 19 November 2009 Pink Floyd - Brain Damage, or Comfortably Numb, depending on mood. (I'm sure I'd somehow be able to communicate my wishes to those that are suitable 'attuned'!) A friend of mine opted for Crowded House, Don't Dream it's Over. Much as I'm not a big Crowded House fan, it was very moving and seemed 'apt'.
General Smuts Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 Pink Floyd - Brain Damage, or Comfortably Numb, depending on mood. And also the cause of death.

Guest Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 It's a funeral, not Live Aid. The main stage (or altar or whatever) headliners looks good but not sure about some of the support being lined up
MikeyT Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 It's a funeral, not Live Aid. That actually just had me laughing like hell.
Sly Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 It's a funeral, not Live Aid. This remark just had me in stitches. The person across the office block from me is now staring at me gone out.
Sly Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 You could always opt for Nelly's "It's getting hot in here" at a Cremation. Personally I'd like Everlong by the Foo Fighters, Sandman by Metallica or Nevermind by Nirvana.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 Forever young - Jay Z Im being serious, really good song.
lou Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 My dad has always said that he wants us to play 'Highway to hell' at his funeral and for everyone to turn up in flowery shirts and to get pissed and have a great time. Your dad sounds pretty cool! Id like something dramatic and uplifting but Im not sure what yet.... Il have to think about that.

lavrentis Posted 20 November 2009 Posted 20 November 2009 stick some of it in the receptiony dinnery thing after then.which ones? Planning your own funeral reception. Riveting.
