Gilbert's gone

Okay, I'm not doubting what you thought you heard Maddog, BUT

there's no news of this ANYWHERE - Not the OS (but no surprise there), not Arsenal's OS, not the Footie Websites like Football 365, not today's Mockery. In fact, the last thing the Mockery said was that they were hoping he might be ok for both the weekend's matchs (implying that worst-case-scenario was he might miss one).

SO Maddog, are you sure you heard it right? It wasn't perhaps Birch giving a hypothetical situation?

Did anyone else hear this on RL last night?

Does the Birch really know anything?

WHAT'S HAPPENING!!!?

Bad news indeed and I didnt think he was as bad as some obviously do!

Im more concerned about Mattocks recent form and would replace him with Powell, Edworthy in for Gilbert.

I'm starting to think maddog has had another absolute shocker here.

That would be :crylaugh:

There must be some news on it at some point, unless the Birch made it up :dunno:

He's just a big, fat, liar! (allegedly (you don't suppose the Birch reads this do you? ))

I think we need to look a little closer to home.......

I hate centre backs playing at full back. For instance, when Hobbs played there.

However, I prefer any centre back to Marc Edworthy at right back.

You mean, someone on here might have... PUT WORDS INTO THE BIRCH'S MOUTH!!!? :o

String him up by the testes! :@

Whomever that might be...

I think we'd guessed that already.

No i didn't and you changed what i said :giggle:

In the process of finding it on iplayer then prove you all wrong!!!

Bit late but:

James

The normal procedure when a loan player gets injured is for the player to return to his club for the treatment. I understand that is what has happened but I am not able to confirm the time period.

Best wishes

To be fair to myself and Daggers you don't exactly fill anyone with confidence with your little wind ups and promotion obsession.

Thats the way i like it :P

This one weren't a wind up

And im only obsessed with the number of points not with promotion, sort of :D

Have you seen the Southend what if thread, i will bump it for you :celebrate:

Ive found it :yahoo::dance::banana:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p002m...rum_06_04_2009/

Approximately 46 minutes in.

"Kerrea Gilbert has gone back to Arsenal, dislocated shoulder, blah blah blah, don't think we will be seeing Kerrea this season"

Fook you Daggers! And Katy! :P

So this is Dr Birch's opinion then?

As James's email confirmed, returning to your mother-club is normal when a loan player gets injured. We can still keep our :fc:

Yours optomistically,

Trav

Can Mattock shift to the right, or Berner or Powell? Surely not totally short on people who can play full-back?

Not for me, sorry.

The Merc - First with the News after Maddog :giggle:

Injury rules Leicester City's Kerrea Gilbert for rest of season Right-back Kerrea Gilbert is out of Leicester City's five-match run-in to the end of the League One campaign.

Gilbert needs surgery on the shoulder injury which forced him off at half-time during last weekend's 2-2 draw with Carlisle United at the Walkers Stadium.

The Arsenal loanee has been one of City's most consistent performers this season, but he has not been without his injury troubles.

He was ruled out for five weeks in the first half of the season with a hamstring injury.

Gilbert also dislocated his shoulder during a loan spell with Championship club Cardiff last season.

Manager Nigel Pearson said: “It is very disappointing because Kerrea has done really well for us this year.”

Jack Hobbs stepped into the right-back berth when Gilbert went off, but Pearson has other options for the Easter programme at Hereford tomorrow and then the home clash with Leeds United.

If Hobbs switches to right-back, City would have the central defensive partnership of Patrick Kisnorbo and Wayne Brown which finished the match against the struggling Cumbrians.

Pearson could also consider bringing in experienced Marc Edworthy or Michael Morrison who has also played in the right-back position.

Can't believe the Merc didn't have it in on Wednesday at least.

Leicester v Leeds

Leicester full-back Kerrea Gilbert could return as the Foxes aim to clinch promotion to the Championship.

The League One leaders are expected to stick with their strikeforce of Matty Fryatt and Steve Howard, with Paul Dickov set to start on the bench.

Leeds manager Simon Grayson will assess the fitness of injured duo Jermaine Beckford and Sam Sodje.

Lubomir Michalik, Andy Hughes and Andy Robinson are among those who will be hoping to be recalled.

Fook you Daggers! And Katy! :P

Well, as you so eloquently put it - fuck you maddog.
