purpleronnie Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Wont be able to see it. I did like red dwarf but series 8 didnt impress me it got too slick and I prefered when there was no money spent on it.
Webbo Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 I haven't been so excited since I got 2 numbers on the lottery.

lou Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Disappointing. Funniest thing on it was Cats lilac cat-suit. Seemed weird without the studio audience/canned laughter.

Yes I thought that, but then again the last series was years ago now. Suppose you can't expect them to use old techniques. The CGI was pretty poor, as it was in Series 8. Better without it really... There were some funny bits.... "Tired? What is it, metal fatigue?" Overall, it was never going to be amazing. The series stopped for a reason. Still well worth the watch though!
Phube Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 I don't understand... it doesn't link from the end of VIII!?!? I need back story!!!
Parsons Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 I don't understand... it doesn't link from the end of VIII!?!?I need back story!!! Ermm dont read this if you havent seen it yet - SPOILER ALERT! Yeh thats what i thought . We have been waiting 9 bloody years to find out how the hell Rimmer was going to get out alive and they didnt even explain it. I hope they do in the next episode. They better explain how Kochanski Died as well
General Smuts Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Never been more excited. My missus is so ashamed of me. I've been running around the house all week waiting for this to return. My housemate came back from Moscow at 9:15. I promptly told her to 'Shut the fook up i've been waiting 9 years for this you've only been gone a week!'

Brilliant!! infact I would go as far as saying that's a far better joke than anything in the actual show!! I am hoping the next 2episodes are going to be better else they are just pi55ing on the memories of what was once a great show
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Disappointing. Funniest thing on it was Cats lilac cat-suit. Seemed weird without the studio audience/canned laughter. I stand, as usual, to be corrected, but I seem to remember that the earlier series didn't have canned laughter either. I think it was Red Dwarf - there's definitely one series I remember a new series starting and I was making a fuss that "it didn't have canned laughter last series." No one tells ME when and how to laugh thank you very much! It was good without being brilliant. Let's hope it hasn't peaked yet. Oh, and like Jay said, great comment Smuts!

I really detest canned laughter especially in American comedy shows the best/worst example is that Everybody hates Raymond show or whatever it's called they take it so far to the extreme when there isn't even a joke just makes me angry

I know I would be.
Phube Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 The originals 2-8, didn't have canned laughter. They did them in front of an audience (as you can see with the smeg-ups!)
