lou Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 One of my mates is a die hard Leeds fan and he was the 1st person to text and congratulate me on our win - he admitted we were the best team on the day. Im sorry but our home support isnt very good in regards to atmosphere. Im always impressed with the Leeds away support but our away support is good too. I dont recall their fans making much noise at Elland Road either........ its usually the way. The away fans are the more die-hard ones and more likely to make a noise and theyre in one smaller area so will always sound louder. Im glad there was no sillyness in regard to chanting.
Mikey Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Hello one and all, a Leeds fan in peace (Amazingly from WACCOE, you probably wont believe it though). Id just like to congratulate you on your ever so close to promotion win today. In my opinion, that was the best bit of League One Football there has ever been, and both sides contributed well to it. If i'm honest, I feel a draw would've been a fair result, but would not begrudge any team of winning a tie like that. Its a shame to read so many negative views towards WACCOE on here tonight though, with some complaining of us being proud in our superiority of support from today. I assure you it is not clutching at straws from today, as we can happily accept defeat against such a strong side. You must understand, though, that we were focusing on our positives, and from today, there were many.Regarding the game itself, I feel that both teams had chances to take the win, and we didnt do ours when we had the chance. You took your very last one, and a very well taken goal it was. Howard was very good throughout the game, and he's a very good player that you have there (IMO, better than Fryatt, although I can only judge from the games i've seen of them, admittedly not many). So yeah, congratulations o nyour win today, and allbeit your promotion. Good luck in your title search, and hopefully we will see you in the Championship next season. Bravo to the regular fans of Leicester City as well, who were in the own right a good home support today. It was a shame to see the cliche glory supporters who found it funny to try and cause some trouble with me and my family after the match, although they clearly are not the hardcore base supporters of Leicester City. Thanks a lot, nice to hear from a unbiased Leeds fan. You're support was good today, best we've had at the Walkers this season, although I thought you support was slightly better last time you came. It was a good game of football by the best, and possibly the 2nd best teams in the division. Also sorry about your trouble, we did seem to attract a lot of wankers today.
MC Prussian Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 ...You must understand, though, that we were focusing on our positives, and from today, there were many. ... Apart from 25 minutes of "You all love your club", your positives were...?
Fox You Forest Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 STEVE HOWARD GOAL HERESorry about crap quality its youtube, I'll try and Improve it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PB1GkVC0zQ8 There it is I'd happily watch that all fooking night. Just an absolutely brilliant day all round.
blueharmie Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I'd happily watch that all fooking night. Just an absolutely brilliant day all round. fuk off back to yorkshite with yours pies its over. your boring, you sing the same songs and your crap.
CosbehFox Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Apart from 25 minutes of "You all love your club", your positives were...? Their back four. The fact they had a left-back who looked alright which has been a problem position. Their goalie's best performance in a long time. Also that with Beckford, we didn't hump em like they expected. I have to agree with the bloke's sentiment and if you notice all the news sources are saying the same, it was an excellent advert for the division. Competitive, fierce in the right manner and contested. Obiviously with my bias, I am bound to say it we just edged it. Leeds fans make out they like but some of them felt grim when Howard's header looped in and those celebrations were the best at the Walkers. It's getting like the Newcastle argument now tbh.
TonyDorigo Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Apart from 25 minutes of "You all love your club", your positives were...? A good defensive display - Which was what caused all our troubles in the winter. Having the players go down battling - Infact, had that been against any other team in the division, I would have backed us to win. The likes of Parker and Sodje having good games - There form will be vital in the playoffs. People like Robinson coming on and creating something in the game - Great peace of mind to know that we have a degree of creativity past our starting eleven, which although not shown massively today, has been phenominal in the 11 games prior. Basically, I thought we played well against what will be the league winners. I feel that we deserved something from the game for our defensive efforts, and thought that every Leeds player left the pitch knowing they had put there all into the game. What more can you actually ask from your players than that? I'd also like to say that it was refreshing to see a good performance without Jermaine Beckford, who I think wouldve been effective in this type of game... or at least more so than Dickinson!! All in all, there are a lot of positives from this game, and even if Leicester City fan cant see them. I wouldnt be surprised though, I mean, you're not Leeds fans, so you dont know what we're hoping to improve on in time for the playoffs.
Corky Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 fuk off back to yorkshite with yours pies its over. your boring, you sing the same songs and your crap. He's a Leicester fan praising the winning goal
Guest Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 fuk off back to yorkshite with yours pies its over. your boring, you sing the same songs and your crap. Erm, are you sure you meant to tell Fox You Forest to fook off to Yorkshire?
Asha Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Apart from 25 minutes of "You all love your club", your positives were...? It's starting to annoy me now how you keep mentioning the 25 minutes singing the same song as a bad thing. I'd love to be involved in thousands of us singing the same song for that long a period of time.

I thought you played pretty well to be fair - I thought Sodje defended well and that sub Robinson looked dangerous. Was disappointed in Delph.. thought he was better than that but Im not complaining Good luck with the play offs

I fear to say it, but we've probably become the 2nd best team in the division at the wrong time. Ah well, entering the lottery of the playoffs, Leeds are always good in those... As I say, the trouble was just pathetic nonsense from obvious part timers. I've met a couple of Foxes fans before the game and felt very welcolmed to the place, and al in all its been a very nice day and a very good away game, helped by the vast majority of your fans.
Corky Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 It's starting to annoy me now how you keep mentioning the 25 minutes singing the same song as a bad thing.I'd love to be involved in thousands of us singing the same song for that long a period of time. I remember when we sang "Micky Adams Blue Army" for 30 minutes at Ipswich when we lost 1-6. It was fantastic to hear.
blueharmie Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 eeellooooooooooooooo iiiiimmmmmmmmmm frommmmmmmmmmmmm leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddss eelllooooooooooooooooooooooooo leicester city = quality.

I wouldnt be surprised though, I mean, you're not Leeds fans, so you dont know what we're hoping to improve on in time for the playoffs. Fair play to that, of course I cannot judge Leeds' development over the course of this season... I'm not sure about the "we deserved something from today" bit, as I always knew we'd nick three points. Yes you gave us a good fight. Yes, you weren't bad, but we simply edged it. It was a battle between two really compact sides. However, at no point did you really threaten Stockdale - apart from one save from Robinson in the second half. You missed some key players badly. And we had the player quality. As you say, "deserved something for your defensive work" - coming to the Walkers to play for a point... Well... It didn't work. Also, giving divers and sissies like Becchio and Sodje high player ratings doesn't really convince me as being an "improvement", more like very biased praise to cover up their misfortunes and the lack of other highlights today. Delph was also on the aggressive side a few times (hitting out at Gradel in the second). Watch out for the playoffs and keep an eye on Tranmere and Sc'unthorpe - you can still get kicked out of those places!
fox123 Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I thought it was a great game, and certainly a good advert for League One football. Some of our build up play was bloody brilliant, and I think that shows how they are working together as a team on the training pitch, something we haven't had for years. I also thought Leeds were decent as well today, but on balance of play we deserved to win.
MC Prussian Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 It's starting to annoy me now how you keep mentioning the 25 minutes singing the same song as a bad thing.I'd love to be involved in thousands of us singing the same song for that long a period of time. Even if you were losing the game, whilst not yet having secured a playoff spot? My pick is easy.

BoneDog Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Happy birthday me. Leicester 1 - 0 Dirty Racist Leedscum Yes Happy Birthday Daggers!! Must of been a good un for sure. What a feeling in the 90th CELEBRATION
Tilley Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Haha. Leeds fans, yeah ok, your fans were outstanding, yeah we had some sad act fans that were more interested in goading you than celebrating. However, Steve Howard scored a header in the last minute, the stadium erupted, we're on the brink of not just promotion, but winning this league, something you have now twice failed to do. Yeah, ok, It's only League One, but I couldn't give two shits whether it is the Conference or the Premier League. My team is about to win a league title. Call us tinpot, call us a joke, call our support shit, say Beckford is better than Fryatt. I couldn't care less. It is just jealousy because the way we have adapted to this league so well & will go up at the first time of asking. Today I am proud to call myself a Leicester City fan & nothing you can say will change that.
Corky Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Even if you were losing the game, whilst not yet having secured a playoff spot?My pick is easy. But we sang Ring of Fire for ages at the first match of the season- a good 20 minutes it was going for, and it sounded great. I can't see a problem with what the Leeds fans were doing today

Asha Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Even if you were losing the game, whilst not yet having secured a playoff spot?My pick is easy. They weren't losing at the time... But even if they were, supporting a team that was losing and singing the same chant for 25 mins to spur on the players? Would be epic.

Watch out for the playoffs and keep an eye on Tranmere and Sc'unthorpe - you can still get kicked out of those places! I guess Delphs one-on-one was a blurr to you. Apoligies for disagreeing, but Delph was rarely involved, from what I can recall, in heated debates. I can recall Kilkenny and Gradel going at it, but not Delph. Divers and sissies like Becchio and Sodje? Fair enough for Becchio, but Sodje? I feel thats just a little bit of anger at his comical handball. However, what is done is done, and we must move on. Luckily, we have Beckford suspected to be ready for Saturday, which will be a HUGE boost to us. I feel that a win against Tranmere will get us our playoff spot. From then on... well, we'll do what we always do. Get to Wembley and mess it up!

I have but praise for their noise level (I was further away in the Kop). It's singing the same tedious chant for 25 minutes and then declaring that the only highlight of the game which is amusing. Sounds to me Leeds never really wanted to win this game then.
