Milky Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 Went on good friday and oblivion was closed all day. Submission also broke down just before our ride started. Oh and it pissed it down all day. Was still a good day though!
Alexikokopops Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 I was disappointed with it. The ad had you looking straight down the drop, yet in reality the ride stops on the apex of the curve. The drop is good, but then that's it. If the ride went on and did some more, like the newer rides that have a vertical drop are doing, then fine. But Oblivion was a one trick pony. That's why you want to go on Saw at Thorpe Park

Benji Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 That's why you want to go on Saw at Thorpe Park Is it good then? I was thinking of going to Thorpe Park purely to go on Saw and Stealth (I think it is)... would it be worth it?
The People's Hero Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 When I get back from Mexico - a bunch of us wan kers should go to a theme park together. Benji - you're invited.

James. Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 Is it good then?I was thinking of going to Thorpe Park purely to go on Saw and Stealth (I think it is)... would it be worth it? Yes! Thorpe Park is brilliant. I went last June, so pre-Saw but Stealth, Collussus and Inferno are all brilliant. The log flume was a good laugh and all in all it's just a ****ing great day out.

All the big rides, plenty of sunshine, fun and beer and then a cheeky wa nk on the Log Flume when we're prepared to get chucked out.

Thorpe Park is brilliant. I went last June, so pre-Saw but Stealth, Collussus and Inferno are all brilliant. The log flume was a good laugh and all in all it's just a ****ing great day out. It's a lot smaller than Alton Towers and is mainly a rollercoaster thing. Saw is ace, Collossus is fun, Nemisis Inferno is good (not as good as the original obvious because that's incredible). Tidle Wave is awesome on a hot day (see the pictures I posted before. I'd also recommend Rush. You feel as though you're going to fall out all the time because you only have a lap bar X:/No Way Out is shit, don't bother. As for Stealth both times I've been its been broken down, once two years ago and once this year. Bag of knackers.
Ozwin Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 I'd never in a million years go on that ride pictured there. **** me.
James. Posted 24 April 2009 Posted 24 April 2009 I'd never in a million years go on that ride pictured there. **** me. Pussy.
MrsJohnMurphy Posted 26 April 2009 Author Posted 26 April 2009 Thanks for the tips guys! Had a great time! Although it was packed & spent half the day on rides suitable for a 5 and 2 year old, we managed to get on Nemisis & Oblivion ( on Oblivion we went up the single riders queue & only had a 15 minute wait ).

Guest Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 That's why you want to go on Saw at Thorpe Park I do. I do want to go!
Bert Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Oh, and I agree about Ripsaw Early or late season is a good shout too. I went to Thorpe Park a month or so ago on a Sunday. I think the longest I queued then was 10 minutes for Saw (which only opened this year). Most rides there was no queue at all. It was glorious sunshine too which meant we could go on the Tidal Wave (The weather was more like the top than the bottom!) Oh, and if you want it half price check this out That log flume looks identical to the one that was at American Adventure. Went last week, Oblivion was ****ing terrifying. Never going on it again. The force you feel when you're going down is absolutely horrible. It's fooking amazing is the Oblivion.
Katy Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I do. I do want to go! So do I, lets make it all happen!
Alexikokopops Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 That log flume looks identical to the one that was at American Adventure. Except you get 16 people in the boats for the one I posted as oppose to four. It's bloody massive
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Wasn't the American Adventure Log Flume the highest drop in Europe? Wonder if that place is still standing all empty and spooky... just like a Scooby Doo episode!
Guest Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 So do I, lets make it all happen! Before the school holidays start?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I remember when I went Alton Towers. Got straight in oblivion twice Air is epic, shame about the huge queues tho. Hi btw
SystonFox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 went couple of weeks ago on a really busy day during easter hols, paid for fast track tickets, well worth it as everyone else is Qing for 50 mins we Qued for 5 only downside is you can only use it once for Air. Nemesis and Obvlisovin.
