Guest Bilo Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Desperate situation for Southampton, but sacking Pearson after he kept them up with no money and no confidence in the squad was asking for trouble. The chances are that a couple of their players will find their way to the Walkers, and this will impact negatively on Southampton in League One. If the 10 point deduction is suspended till next season then I can see little but a struggle for Southampton next season. If their finances worsen and they lose too many players, they could very easily go into freefall.
CosbehFox Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 We actually voted against points deductions when Colin Warnock moaned. We were the only one.Of course, it was our fault it came in (let's completely ignore the clubs who went into administration before us, and Ipswich who did exactly the same thing ) Bradford voted against it too. Only two clubs in a conference at the Walkers to do so.
Lamby Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Hopefully we wont finish bottom if the points are deducted now. Looking forward to the riots again now
Alexikokopops Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Hopefully we wont finish bottom if the points are deducted now.Looking forward to the riots again now They need to get out the bottom three for them to be deducted this season, which means they need to win both their games, which means they'll be on 40 points after the deduction, so in all reality you'll have to win both your games to over take them. Even then it can't really be that satisfying knowing that you only barely avoided finishing bottom even with a team getting deducted ten points. Also why the fuck would you rather finish second from bottom this season rather than have a ten point lead on them at the beginning of next season?!

Cos I dont want us to finish bottom, it looks bad when you do. Then we cant be called the shittest team in the champ, we can be called the 2nd shittest team in the champ.

Then we cant be called the shittest team in the champ, we can be called the 2nd shittest team in the champ. But a 10 point head start on one of your closest rivals for promotion would be nice surely?

Then we cant be called the shittest team in the champ, we can be called the 2nd shittest team in the champ. So you'd rather be able to say "we weren't the shittest team in the Championship, we were the second shittest" than have one of your main promotion rivals start on -10 points next season? Even when people who know anything about football will follow up with "well, you are shitter than Southampton. The only reason you finished above them is because they got ten points deducted. You played worst than them all season, as shown by your paltry points total in comparison to theirs before then had ten deducted. You claiming you were better than Southampton is like Chester and Grimsby claiming they were better than Luton. It's complete and utter bollocks you idiothole"? because that's what I'd follow up with. Your view baffles me so much that I'm hoping Southampton get them deducted this season and still finish above you.

Koke Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 I can't wait to see the odds for Southampton to get promoted out of League 1 at first attempt. I don't care what people say, if the odds are good it's definitely worth a punt, regardless point deduction next season or not.
maddog Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Does Saganowski still play for them He would be a tasty signing indeed, not sure how old he is now though. Weren't we linked with him last season. I think he's quality.

Lamby Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Well a -10 for next seaon will be nice, but we'd probs fook it upand they'll still finish above us
C-man Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Lamby, have a word son, riots aren't good, and whether you finish 2nd bottom or bottom, you're still shit.
lcfc_jme Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 :w00t: :D    Massive jizz-fest. I'm so ****ing glad I won't have to go back there for a while.

I don't care what people say, if the odds are good it's definitely worth a punt, regardless point deduction next season or not. I bet they will be 3rd or 4th favourites still. If Leeds get promoted they will be fancied more. I just have a feeling Charlton will struggle in League one and Barnsley if they go down. But if Forest go down i rekon they will bounce back like us. All i can say is despite how fantastic this season has been i'm glad we're not in their shoes now. Getting relegated now we are back up was the best thing that could have happened for us. Had we stayed up we probably would have had Ollie at the start of this season, Gradel wouldn't have played at all, we wouldn't have signed Gilbert, Cleverly, Hobbs, the keepers on loan, we wouldn't have signed Powell, Tunch, Dyer, King may not have got games, Fryatt and Howard would have still been crap. Next season will be our first season ever where we can go into the Championship with a winning mentality and confidence, Bristol City showed that last season, Swansea showed it this season. We have NEVER gone into this league with this much of a winning mentality and i think next season is our best chance of getting back to the Premiership, just like this season in league one was.
C-man Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Seriously maddog, why are you still here? I knew Jamie would love this news.
lcfc_jme Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Seriously I need new pants. This news is too much.

Then we cant be called the shittest team in the champ, we can be called the 2nd shittest team in the champ. Nope, you're still the shittest team in the Championship, I believe results prove this. You've had an even more embarsssing season than ours last year.
Corky Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Nope, you're still the shittest team in the Championship, I believe results prove this. You've had an even more embarsssing season than ours last year. We weren't absolutely dreadful, unlike Charlton. We conceded only 45 goals, we went down becaue we couldn't score. Charlton are woefully out of their depth.

C-man Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Well we sort of were, that's why we got relegated. Yeah, I suppose we were Joe.
Brainy Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 Not much posting.. , 800 posts on another team's forum is a lot.. more than that MK fan who harrased us last summer. Odd to go all defensive aswell though. not
