lcfc_jme Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 Even though I'm ****ing ruined right now and loving the fact So'ton are on -10 in L1, I still wish for them to stay in business and mount a good challenge next year. Obvvv I want themm to fall shortt 'cos I couldn't face another return to th3eir ground, but5 I want them to stay in business and possibly finishj in League One's top 8. Good club, brililant fans, just c*ntish stewards and awful ground that ruins them in my eyes.

Joe. Posted 29 April 2009 Posted 29 April 2009 We'll never see you again! You really are an utter nob aren't you.
MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 Southampton close to being bought by a Swiss consortium. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ton/8114376.stm
Babylon Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Matt Fatissier and his backers have pulled out of the deal the saints could be wound up by the end of the week. Scary stuff for saints fans, feel sorry for them.

Pinnacle pulls out of Saints bid Southampton have suffered a huge blow after prospective buyers Pinnacle pulled out of negotiations to buy the financially-stricken League One club.
lcfc_jme Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I've never masked my hatred of this club on this board, but I honestly and sincerely do not want them to go out of business. That'd be a crying shame for football.
Ultra Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Someone has to make use of St Mary's - even if it's an AFC Southampton playing in the Hampshire League or whatever. There but for the grace of God etc..
BlueSi13 Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Am i right in think Le Tissier and Co are willing to let Southampton go completely out of business rather than start with a -10 point deduction......that really can't be right can it?
Fosse Boy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I've never masked my hatred of this club on this board, but I honestly and sincerely do not want them to go out of business. That'd be a crying shame for football. I pretty much echo these views. No great love for them (or their ground), but they're a club with some degree of heritage and tradition. Wouldn't want to see them disappear off the map. It would leave Pompey fans with no-one to hate.

I doubt if LeTiss was putting much of his own money in. He'd be just a figure head. I thought there was a Swiss consortium bidding as well. I'll bet anyone a pound to a pinch of shit that Soton don't go out of business.

Bert Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Matt's too busy with Countdown this week. Which was recorded weeks ago. Hope the saints don't go out of business.
Libertine Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Which was recorded weeks ago. Hope the saints don't go out of business. Yeh I'm very much aware of that. Was a mildly comedic remark.

Guest Bilo Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Southampton are a club that have never really registered on my radar. I don't particularly like or dislike them as a club, but I'd be saddened to see fans of any club lose their team. I hope somebody can step in at the 11th hour and bail them out, but it isn't looking good.
Matt Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 For the -10 Point deduction I have no heartache for them whatsoever, at the end of the day, they voted for a points deduction - What goes around comes around. However I wouldn't wish a club to go out of business or result in further relegation on anyone.

Southampton were a Premier League club when the 10-point deduction rule was introduced.
