Well that was a waste of money, and embarrassing too.

I hope Hatton now realises he aint good enough and does the gracefull thing and retires. His yoyo dieting and training was always going to hinder his chances. Thankfully pacman won it, which leads to a possibly great match against FMJ, I mean even if hatton would have won(yeah right) who wants to see a hatton rematch with FMJ...unless your a FMJ fan of course.

Did you hear some interviews with the hatton fans after the fight...He's still the best, greatest ever champion???. What are these people on? I guess they're trying to justify spending all the money to watch him get whipped.

You know Hatton was in trouble when the English bookies who are notorious for always making the english person/team favourite had the Pacman odds on. Despite this they would still have cleaned up ...when will punters learn? bet with your head not your heart.

The final blow was a phenominal hit.

I reckon Hatton will have 1 more fight, to try and go out on a win.

I agree but that would be a huge mistake if he did! If he did that and lost again it really would ruin what has been overall a very good career.

Just watched it again, gets better with every watch.

I love the way Hattons yobbish fans shut up as he hits the deck, superb.

Some maybe yes but not all of them mate, i'll always love Ricky, a great lad and inspiration to those who followed him, Jim Watt summed it up best, a great fighter was was found wanting at superstar level, there's no shame in losing to both Mayweather and Pacquiao, fighters who will go down as two of the greatest of all time. Though i definitely believe Hatton was better than a 2nd round KO last night, then again Khan was better than a 1 round KO to Prescott but thats boxing, shit happens when one lands flush.

I'd like to see Ricky fight 1 more time, nobody deserves to go like that, maybe that fight against Witter would be an excellent way to bow out after all

There's only one Ricky Hatton :chant:

Hattons career is OVER.

Pacman Vs FMJ - now that is a fight I would love to see. I would fancy Pacman too. When Hatton fought FMJ, there was a littleb bit of doubt, most people accepeter FMJ deserved to win, but the ref didnt help at all, and Hatton lasted a lot longer. Against Pacman there is NO doubt.

Hatton got nailed. Pacman is so quick. Its a shame for Hatton to bow out like this, but every time he comes up against someone thats faster and more technically gifted than himself, he loses. Now just retire with your dignity half intact.

Just re watched it.

Hatton lost Hatton that fight. The way he fought was completely wrong.

It was a combination of both. Hatton went into the fight with his usual brawler attitude, no technique, just try and bomb the opponent and hope he doesnt throw anything back. He made the same mistake with Mayweather Jnr. Will he ever learn? Or as Freddie Roach said, is it his lack of ability to allow him to adjust against REAL fighters?

Pacman also won the fight - Hatton never stood a chance with Pacman throwing that many punches in a short space of time. He couldnt live with it. He's meant to be in the shape of his life and he got hammered. Even in his absolute prime he wouldnt of stood a chance.

Pacman is just a far, far superior boxer.

Well that was funny! lol

Hatton basically went in like a tit, and got made to look the tit he tried to be. Pacman's speed and even increased power as he moves through the weights is frightening. The ferocity of that hit that knocked Ricky out in the slow-motion replay was actually disgusting. I think it may actually have killed me.

I am for Ricky having one last fight at home, either at COMS or Wembley but against someone beatable (:giggle:), not punching above his weight, we want to see a good fight but want Hatton win his one last fight, Maybe a rematch with Malignaggi? Obviously no matter who the opposition is their is a risk of losing though which as has already been said would ruin what has been a good career for Hatton.

I was watching SSN earlier and one fan wanted a home fight for Hatton v De La Hoya, That would be bad IMO, De La Hoya would beat Hatton I would think, as much as it would be good fight it would be bad for Hatton. Besides De La Hoya has retired now - I know he could come out of retirement but can't see it happening anyway.

I've been wanting to see that for years. Hatton once said "I'm not giving Witter the biggest pay day of his career" I think and I thought that was out of order. They got no love for eachother so would be a good brawl.

Witter is southpaw with skills so may give Hatton some trouble. I think Witter deserves a crack, he's put in the work over the years.

I'd be supporting 'The Hitter' Witter :D

I've always said that'll be a fight where Khan gets battered.

I covered a lot of boxing in the days of Joe Bugner, Dave "Boy" Green and Alan Minter and the punch that finished Hatton was one of the fiercest I've seen.

Hatton was way out of his class with Pacquiao's speed of mind and fists being far more than Hatton could cope with. I'm just glad Hatton came through the experience with no lasting physical damage as far as can be told.

He always been brave and it's typical that he's talking about a careeer finale in Manchester by way of saying thankyou to his fans. I can't altogether say I blame him but that punch and that beating will have done lasting psychological damage. He'll know he's past the best he can be.

Hatton Almost Wins In Las Vegas!

Ricky Hatton did himself and his vast army of travelling fans proud here in Las Vegas in the early hours, when the Manchester-based boxer came to within a hairs-breadth of beating Manny Pacquiao in their light-welterweight championship bout at the MGM Grand.

The pre-fight hype had placed Hatton as the underdog, but he made a mockery of that, as he came storming out of his corner in the first round, landing shots left, right and centre - a couple of which connected - before taking a couple on the chin himself.

Spurred-on by 25,000 adoring fans from Manchester who had defied the economic downturn and raided their piggy banks to come and offer him their undying vocal support, Hatton took a breather to regain his strength during the first round, before coming out in the same attacking frame of mind in the second.

He lasted a huge 2 minutes and 59 seconds of that round before finally running out of steam, and was knocked into the middle of the week-after-next by the Filipino, who hadn't even bothered to remove his dressing-gown, so confident was he.

The defeat could mark the end for Hatton, who is only 30, but many fans told us that they wanted him to carry on, and that this wasn't the end of Ricky Hatton.

One staunch admirer, Barry Madd, from Chorlton-cum-Hardy, said:

"Wot a waste o' money! All this way f' 6 minutes! Jeeeezus Christ!"

I hope so! That would be a great night for British boxin fans. I reckon Khan might do him. He's getting stronger all the time. Fast, strong and extremely accurate
