Darkzzz_ Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 I don't mind Kissa. Seems to get a good reception from the fans all the time. I think he had been a decent player for us over the years but I just can't see him getting in, would love him to stay but is there any point in it? He will want first team football and unless he can really work hard and force his competition out then I can't see it happening. Agree with another poster above, he would be an absolute steal on a free. Good luck Kisnorbo if you stay or go.
AyewJoking Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Wonder if Birmingham still want him...........................
Darkzzz_ Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 I can see him playing in the Championship next season. But he will not be going to be Birmingham.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 How could you miss those comical 30 yard cross field balls that go out of play with no fellow player in sight? Well, at least it wasn't going to Momo Sylla. Oh my god our team really did used to be dreadful, Sylla, Hammond, Hayles. The list is endless I remember when Kisnorbo got sent off at Ipswich, now that one was a pisstake!
Flynny Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 I am sorry to hear that he caused you to avoid relations. Did he steal your woman? For that reason alone he should be released as soon as possible. Nah just an older poster who fort i would defend a player that has done well for us since reverting to CBHe excelled in that season we were relegated in a struggling/ poor team and just fort ppl should remember that Agree with most of what you have said. He was a very solid defender last year and weighed in with some crucial goals. However, defending his fort is taking it too far.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Kisnorbo is quality and should have been worthy of a new deal. As an ST - seeing many game -he would win 99% of his headers regardless of opposition he was up against. He was one of the main reasons we so nearly avoided relations as up front and in midfield that season we were dog-shit.Yet he has had a difficult season with injuries and we probably wouldnt see a proper fully fit Paddy K until he has a full pre-season under his belt The signings of Hobbs and Brown indicate that Pearson is happy with the lads that have come in and covered him in his absence and sadly there only seems one option now and thats for him to move on. But he was a great servant to the club. Ok his distribution was poor, but strong in the air and was always charging shots and last ditch interventions. Just cos we have had a good season against lesser opposition should we forget how capable Paddy K is at the level above League One. I genuinely thought he always gave 100% to Leicester when he played and wish him all the best should he move on and mirror the thoughts of another poster - that he will be a right steal for a Championship club on a free. Scores goals at set pieces too. Superb post, I agree with literally every word you've written. I will be more sorry to see him go than any permanent player we've had since Izzet
Thracian Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Kisnorbo's the sort of coltish player the fans love. Young, brave, wholehearted and an defiant presence in the back third. Leicester were so keen to play him they made the ridiculous move of putting him in midfield where he quickly looked as if he were in an alien landscape. Defensively though, pre-injury, it was hard to criticise him but times you would marvel at a last ditch interception or spreadeagled block only to cover your eyes in frustration as he ignored a choice of simple passes and hooved it straight to the opposition. For anyone who sees football teams as being made up of defenders and attackers, Kisnorbo's fine at his best. He'd defend a realm on his own if he had to. But if, like me, you think a team is made of footballers who attack as a unit and defend as a unit I've yet to see where Kissa fits in, apart from at set-pieces in his halcyon days. Don't mistake me, he's not the only one. Apart from Tunchev if he ever returns as the player he was, there's not an Ian King in the club - not one centre-back who can think ahead calmly, cushion the ball and pass it with unerring accuracy and simplicity. Why Wayne Brown doesn't do it I don't know, except that he's not as quick as he was and perhaps he feels more vulnerable passing the ball than simply flighting it forward towards Howard. The problems of having non-passing centre-backs aren't exposed in Division One where there's precious little inclination from anyone below sixth place to attack a team like Leicester with anything other than a token force. But quicker teams like Peterborough and MK Dons made us look uncomfortable enough and it'll be far more the case next season when we really will have to play the ball accutely from defence or suffer the consequences. I don't see how Kisnorbo would help in that task. He's had four seasons to learn to control the ball quickly and pass it economically. If he's succeeded I've not noticed it.

lookwhaticando Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 He's a very young 28. Remember, it was only a few years ago that he was, indeed, just twenty-six!
Thracian Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Isn't he 28? Bloody hell, didn't realise he was that old. I started my squash career at 28 partly cos my body had seen enough of football by then!. Is Kisnorbo any good at squash?
maddog Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 We always lose when you play. EDIT: We always lost when you played
smudger63 Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Kisnorbo is quality and should have been worthy of a new deal. Scores goals at set pieces too. Superb post, absolutely spot on! There are quite a few here with short memories, we didnt go down last season because of kisnorbo, we went down cos we didnt score enough goals. He is a player, that is proven at championship level. Kisnorbo came in this season, after injury, and without a pre season, and even more notably, without proper reseve games to get match sharp. Sorry, but reserve games against loughborough university and such like, is not going to get anyone match sharp. The same applies to dickov and others, that have been slagged off on here, they are not going to get anywhere near match sharpness, without regular reserve team games, but thats another subject. As it happens, i dont think kisnorbo was any worse than any of our other defenders in the games he played this season. In fact, as i have said in a previous post, when he first came back into the team, it coincided with gilbert being injured, and hobbs, playing out of position at right back, and i felt that was where we were having the problems, NOT because kisnorbo was playing! Also, if you were to give me a choice of kisnorbo or brown, i would pick kisnorbo every time. Equally as good in the air, as brown, reads the game just as well , and more importantly, is quicker by some way, than brown, which if and when brown plays next season, is probably going to cost us. Oh, and as for kisnorbos poor distribution, is it really any worse than brown, hobbs or morrison? I think not! I said it in an earlier post, i will say it again, kisnorbo is going to be a steal for someone, and i thank him for his commitment to our club, and wish him all the best, unless hes playing against us.
Filbert_Ross Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 i think we're being hasty if we let him go, I can understand Pearsons point of view having only worked with him this season, but when fully fit he is a better player then Morrisson, Brown and Hobbs IMO.
Shane Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 I think he has to go at the end of the day. With brown, hobbs, Morrison and tunchev hes not going to get much of a chance. He has to go for the good of his career.
