I was discussing this with someone the other day, It's going to be a tough one to pick I think too, How many times, in this league anyway does a team get relegated and go straight back up - 1 in 10 years, that's how many! So Pearson deserves it for that. But then Peterborough and MK Dons have done well getting where they have after being promoted just last year to this league. Manager Of The Season Predictions - 1st) Darren Ferguson. 2nd) Nigel Pearson. 3rd) Roberto Di Matteo.

The Blur Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Manager of the month should go to Pearson- steadied the ship after our form went downhill a bit especially with rampant Posh catching us up and ended the season in style I know I would sound biased but once again Pearson to get the overall award because he deserves recongtion for his achievements where countless other managers failed in revtailising LCFC albittely at lower league level than his predeccsors Sorry for terrible spelling!

However, Ferguson does deserve an awful lot of credit for what he has a acheived at London Road and I would not have too many complaints about him getting the award considering they dont have the same resouces as us and we clearly have the best squad in the league.

Isopen Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 It's rarely the case that the Manager of the Season doesn't go to the manager of the champions of each division. Also need to take into account the stats (96 points, more than in any other division for starters)

Although I cannot fully disagree with this, I think in my biased opinion that I want Pearson to edge it (although I don't think he will). It's been said a million times before, but look at Florest and Leeds(scum). To go straight back up, and as Championes as well, takes a ballsy gaffer and backroom team. Plus the fact that we were a shower of cnuts the season before, speaks bigger volumes of Big Nige. Posh did have a bit of momentum going into the start of the season, we had to pick ouselves off the floor. Fergusons achievments are not far off a miracle though, so fair play to him if he wins it.

Agree, DF hit the ground running with a confident, winning team where as NP inherited a relegated, zero cofidence badly organised set up and turned the whole club around, recovering from an all time low and winning the title in some style was a fantastic achievment and there is no justice if he does`nt walk off with the gong !

Ultra Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I think Pearson was the only manager who stayed unbeaten during April, so he's in with a fair shout for another MotM award. It's a close-run thing between him and Fergie junior for the season gong though. Both have strong claims.
