I think a lot of people will come back dissapointed. Expensive tickets. Shit away section. Very jobsworth stewards + daytrippers = a lot of sitting and probably nothing special atmosphere wise.

Don't really see the appeal. It aint fooking Man U. Newcastle have bounced around the divisions before and haven't won fook all for 55 years or whatever.

If it's viable I will go, like with any away match. Certainly not the biggest/best away game next season though in my book, for the reasons others have already mentioned.

Next year the Toon love-in will be unbearable. I actually (almost) wish they had stayed up. You wait, next season we'll be getting all of the old cliches every all the time: 'Geordie nation', '50,000 every week' (even though their average gate this season was 46,000 and next season it will be even lower). Clubs like Barnsley, Plymouth, etc. selling out for the first time in years. 'We are your cup final' attitude among their fans. Hour-long documentaries on Big League Weekend, etc. about how football matters more to the North-East than to any other region and other such incorrect axioms.

Someone's already used the word 'circus' in this thread. That's exactly what it will be for most of the Championship clubs next season. The media will present their season as a tour around England where everywhere they'll be the biggest thing to have come to town. I hope in the frenzy we don't end up looking like a typical small/medium-sized championship club, overawed at the prospect of playing Newcastle. Let's not forget we've won more silverware than them in the last 15 years

Was up in Newcastle this weekend visiting my old university housemates.....was a group of 6 of us in a pub wishing Newcastle would go down, the devastation after the final whistle was absolutely glorious. Completely overrated bunch of fans.

Can get the National Express from London for £14 return and the journey is not horrendous at all....especially taking the overnight bus on the friday (should it be a Saturday 3:00 kick off).
