Got to be either Torres or Johnson for me, still undecided. I think MOTD have overlooked Zaki's at Liverpool in the list as well, definitely better than Tuncay's similar effort.

Close between these two. I'd probably opt for Johnson's though. To run onto a ball, control it on your chest then volley it over the keeper into the top corner on your weaker foot is a bit special.

Not taking away anything from Torres' goal either.

Measured, premeditated, well placed, class. Johnson's is great to look at but let's be fair it was probably a bit hit-and-hope. ;)

Torres would be a close second for me. Fuller's shouldn't even be on there, what a joke.

The pass and move first touch football by West Ham was exquisite though. I like long range shots, but I appreciate passing goals more and for that reason I chose Mr Carlton Cole.

Agreed. And it's disappointing they show so little of the build up on repeats because I remember watching the game and the whole move was excellent. Fairly average finish, mind, Cole didn't have much to do. For a player to win goal of the season I want to see them do something a bit special.

Have to say, if Anelka had scored today's goal a couple of months ago I guarantee we'd have that in contention. Stunning.

Anyway i pick his goal against whoever it was. I just remember it being a screamer out of the blue.

Uhm. It was a nice touch but really a great number of players could have done that and besides one bit of skill it was just any other goal. I was stunned it got goal of the month tbh. Must have been a slow month!

Finners is right though to be fair. It was a good touch and a decent goal, but it's not worth being mentioned in the same breath as any of the other goals.

Glen Johnson for me, bit of a hit and hope in terms of it usually going into row Z but for a defender as well it was absolutely stunning. Not only the strike but there was great skill in the control and taking it into his stride.

Well this shows the whole build up at around 1:45 and to be fair they only left out two passes :unsure:
