Finnegan Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Barca are missing three of their first-choice back four. Rooney and Ronaldo will tear them to shreds like they did Arsenal. I'll go for a 3-1 United win. The people that don't watch Spanish football stick out like sore thumbs. It's not exactly like Man Utd finished the season on incredible form, either, they were very shakey over the last few months. I think it'll be incredibly close, anyone expecting either side to "rip the other to shreds" is in for a bit of a shock in my opinion. I agree with Nath, I wouldn't like to call this one at all. I just hope it's the classic we all want and not some cagey affair with both sides being scared of the other's reputation for attacking football.
Joinesy77 Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Come on Barca!!! Can see utd winning it though with all the injuries Barca have at the moment. They're defence is going to be especially weak.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Even as an avid follower of Spanish football and Barcelona in particular, I couldn't confidently predict anything - for no reason other than Barcelona will be fielding a side we haven't seen before. To lose both Abidal and Alves (along with Marquez and Milito) is massive. I guess it will be Sylvinho - Toure - Pique - Puyol but who knows. If they then haven't got Henry and/or Iniesta on top of that, then it looks very much in Manchester United's favour. That's not me making excuses, that's just the way it is. The one thing that gives me hope is if Barca are still able to implement their possession football. If, however, they get completely overrun like Real did at Anfield then fair enough.
Edmund Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 There's so much brown nosing going on in this thread. This

I see enough Spanish football to know it's a better League than the Premier. If Barca had a full-strength side they would be slight favourites. Their defensive frailties, however, are likely to be exploited by two of the world's deadliest attackers. United were doing enough in the Premier League to get the job done. But they raised their game when they needed to for crunch clashes like the ones at Porto and the Emirates. Without the need to conserve energies for a weekend game, they'll be able to go full-throttle.
Tommeh Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Coooommmme On Barcaaaaaaa Night booked off work and a soarpoint shift for this one and I will injure myself, break glass and topple over the pool table if a late winner is scored right infront of them AIG shirted wankers.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Hope united do win, Bring the cup back to England again. I say 2-1 United. Barca to score 1st. If barca play like they did against chelsea, and theres a better ref, surely united will win.
maddog Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 http://msn.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...5350183,00.htmlRonaldo injury scare. No way he's injured, more mind games from twat Ferguson. I really really want Barca to stuff them tonight 3-0. But it's likely to be 0-0 or 1-1.

Uncle Albert Posted 27 May 2009 Author Posted 27 May 2009 SSN Confirm a British fan has been stabbed. I didnt think it would be long before I read something like this. Poor sod. Mind games from Ferguson I think about the Ronaldo injury 'scare'. Hopefully anyway.
Koke Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 SSN Confirm a British fan has been stabbed. Stabbed in the arse? That's how Italians roll. I could just guess this would happen. Sucks.
Tommy G Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Rooney will be the key for Utd nevermind Ronaldo. if I was Fergie I would be much more worried if Rooney was limping around

Equal for me.

Probably not though.
