So I think I'm enjoying Romance, the Fontaines DC album, (4th listen through as a complete album) but...

Romance sounds like The Horrors

Desire sounds like Ride

In the Modern World sounds like U2

Sundowner sounds like The Cure

Death Kink sound sooooo like the Pixies

All these songs are good and I love all those other bands, but it's like every other song is a tribute to another band, so listening to it as an album is not the expression that an album should be. There's no flow. Is this because young people no longer listen to albums as a whole, often having everything on shuffle or just cherry picking their favourite songs out of an album?

Fair play to them for putting a single and one of the best tracks as the final track on the album, that's refreshing.

Always trying to find some sort of indie band with female vocals and now going full circle back to the (early, not Love Shack but like Roam) B-52's. Love Wolf Alice but they've not made anything new for a couple of years. Wet Leg were good for a short while.

Any recommendations?

Forgot to mention Hotwax - if you like the heavier side of Wolf Alice defo check them out.

He's not Bono, he's rubbish.
