C-man Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Link Former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has been appointed Chelsea manager on a three-year deal.The Italian left the Rossoneri on Sunday after guiding them to a third-place finish in Serie A. He replaces Russian international coach Guus Hiddink who ended his stint at Stamford Bridge by clinching the FA Cup over the weekend. "Carlo was the outstanding candidate for the job," read a statement on the Chelsea website.

StanSP Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 I have a feeling he might be a little like Scolari. He'll come in with so much hype and expectation, but in the end he won't deliver consistently. However, he does have the summer to get who he wants with apparently £100m budget. Hope he does well, but I'm a little pessimistic about it.

I dont rate him that highly.He concentrated on the CL which is fair enough but others have done that and done very well in there respected leagues as well. 3 major trophies in 8 years isnt very impressive.

With an unquestionably talented AC Milan team he has struggled to fourth position this season. I suppose he is stuck with a rather old age team but its a team thats still full of class and quality. I see questions over his motivation techniques to be fair. Anyone think he will bring any players with him.... i.e Kaka.

Spot on, i agree he doesnt have the best of records (not to say that its bad, it just should be better for the squads he's had regardless of the previous owners buying players he didnt want) but Roman wants the european cup and obviously thinks he'll get it for him
Koke Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 I don't really think he's the answer to Chelsea. Fair play, he's got a good track record in the CL, but 1 Serie A title in 8 years is quite poor. And a major problem he failed to address at Milan was the ageing squad. But I think he's the best Chelsea could get considering what's out there available.
