Ultra Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 From the BBC Australia captain Ricky Ponting has backed his side to bounce back strongly in their must-win World Twenty20 game against Sri Lanka at Trent Bridge.Ponting's side lost their opening game against West Indies and another defeat would put them out of the competition. "We'll have two weeks in Leicester if we have an early exit here - that won't be good for anybody," joked Ponting. I don't understand why he's so worried. Leicester has often very welcoming to Aussie cricketers, as Shane Warne will confirm.. And there are plenty of places to have a beer - so ample opportunities for Ponting and his pals to enjoy rest and relaxation.
lou Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Wont be good for him now hes said that I suspect! Not good for the people of Leicester too
DB11 Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Well I wouldn't wanna spend two weeks in Leicester if I could help it
Uncle Albert Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Well I wouldn't wanna spend two weeks in Leicester if I could help it Exactly. Hope they go out now, couldnt think of anything better than hitting the Casino and seeing Michael Clarke placing his appearence fee's on Red, 19-36.
Ultra Posted 8 June 2009 Author Posted 8 June 2009 Well I wouldn't wanna spend two weeks in Leicester if I could help it ....says a resident of a BNP-infested hell-hole...
James. Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 There's probably more culture in Leicester than the whole of Australia put together. That said who really gives a shit what Ponting says.
CosbehFox Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Shame we haven't got them down Grace Road. Give him some yip.
lou Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I dont think it is on the whole. A lot worse places you could live to be fair.
Babylon Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 A lot worse places you could live to be fair. I didn't say there wasn't... it's still a shit hole.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I took the quote as it wouldn't be good to get knocked out. Never the less quite funny
Fox You Forest Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I took the quote as it wouldn't be good to get knocked out. Never the less quite funny That's the way i read it too.
Dr The Singh Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 With Leicester having a large 'Indian' Community I can see why the Aussies don't want to be there: Indian Students Worldwide Condemn Racial Attacks Against them By Aussies
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Some of you lot need to learn how to take a joke. Also there is the fact that he is quite correct Leicester is hardly somewhere you'd want to spend two weeks. Although if he wants to see a real shit hole he should take a trip down the M69.
DB11 Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 ....says a resident of a BNP-infested hell-hole... And what? I'm hardly enough to vote either for or against the BNP, am I?
Uncle Monty Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Why will they be in Leicester, they are not playing at Grace Road are they?
Sods Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I made the comment he is a doosh bag, its not because of what he has said about Leicester, really couldn't give two shits i read it as he didn't want his country to be knocked out early.
