Joe. Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 This won't be a saga. The hard part was getting United to accept a bid, and that's already been done. Ronaldo clearly wants to go there, so he will. I don't think it'll drag out to be honest. Madrid's midfield next season will be sexy as.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Surely Messi's performances at the Bernabeu and in the CL Final this season have proven that theory wrong where he's concerned - the only big game he hasn't played well in this season was Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and he still managed to assist the crucial goal in that. He always plays fairly well in the El Clasico. Don't think he's ever played particularly well against English Teams. CL final he was alright was still all about the centre of midfield if you ask me.
Samilktray Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Kinda gutted about this, always been a fan of his but for 80million, youve got to say yes regardless of who you are.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 He always plays fairly well in the El Clasico. Don't think he's ever played particularly well against English Teams. CL final he was alright was still all about the centre of midfield if you ask me. Which he was practically playing in for most of the match. Still, bit of a pointless argument I suppose. The main thing is: Ronaldo is an absolute helmet.
leicesterseddon Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 What are his wage demands gonna be?! Heard someone mention £250,000 a week...but I don't believe/refuse to believe that will happen. Wouldn't be surprised by £150,000 a week though... This transfer could send shockwaves through this transfer window...the money is just going to get circulated if Man. U spend big with it, plus of course the massive spending power of Chelsea and the seemingly bottomless pockets of Man City. This could be the summer when the numbers just start to get silly...
dandannieldanok Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Personally pleased by this, although in the grand scheme of things I couldn't give a crap about clubs such as Man Utd and Real Madrid, and players such as Ronaldo.
StanSP Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Even Gordon Brown had his say PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN "He's one of the most brilliant players in the world. I think people will be sad that he's lost to the game in England."At the same time, I know Sir Alex Ferguson well, and I know he'll have plans that will be rebuilding and renewing his team. And I would expect that Manchester United and English football will emerge not weaker, but emerge in a new way and probably stronger in the long run".
Thracian Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Thought youd be happy........ one less immigrant over here! What nationality is Joey Barton? Does anyone want him too?
Babylon Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Even Gordon Brown had his say PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN Why doesn't that twat just get on with ruining the country.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Why doesn't that twat just get on with ruining the country. Someone's obviously asked him about it and he's simply answering a question, pretty harmless. His public image is one of a dour miserable bast*rd, and that would soon be built upon if he was seen to refuse to answer a harmless question.
Jon the Hat Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Once again, one has to ask oneself how Real Madrid, who have been and still are hugely in debt, manage to come up with such a ridiculous amount of spare cash...£80m. Have a laugh. At least the Premiership will no longer have to endure his child-like pitch antics, as genius as Cristiano Ronaldo may be. Good business for ManU - although I wish other clubs could make similar deals. It's not going to help the league in the long run when one club makes that much more money from transfers (I know the money's going to be used to pay for their own debts first, but still). To be brief there a few reasons Real are the richest club in the world. 1) Global appeal + marketing = lots of cash. 2) Individual not collective bargaining for TV money means the big boys get more and the little boys less. 3) Less wage cost (20% tax on players wages rather than our soon to be 50% - and the club pays the tax) - this alone would pay Kaka's transfer fee over a 5 year contract for Ronaldo. Bit of a difference that. And to answer another quesiton Platini doesn't mind clubs which can pay their own expenses and not rely on huge cash injections from Billionaires.
Shrenchel Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 What a suprise. The two Scottish champagne socialist bastards are mates.
Thracian Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Even Gordon Brown had his say PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN Gordon reminds the world that Ferguson is a Labour supporter, that there are still Labour supporters left in England even if there aren't so many English want to vote labour and that those who are here, actually come from other countries. What a suprise. The two Scottish champagne socialist bastards are mates. You put it so much better than me.
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 All aboard the Real Madrid band wagon. Can't wait to get my Ronlado Real Madrid shirt.
leicesterseddon Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Even Gordon Brown had his say PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN ...This is the bloke who claimed to be a 'good friend' of Simon Cowell, and who 'phoned to check that Susan Boyle 'was Ok'. I actually depsair at some of the bloke's attempts to look 'with it'

How do you explain him actually going out of his way to mention the fact he rang Simon Cowell to ask how Susan fecking Boyle was.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 How do you explain him actually going out of his way to mention the fact he rang Simon Cowell to ask how Susan fecking Boyle was. Because for some reason millions upon millions of British people like that programme and actually care what happened to her and care about how the situation was responded to. I don't actually know, just throwing an idea out.

Can you imagine O'bama asking about the welfare of someone on the American version of i'm a celebrity and the like. Not in a million years... as he has stuff to do like run the country.
Shrenchel Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 All aboard the Real Madrid band wagon. Can't wait to get my Ronlado Real Madrid shirt. When I went down to Burger King earlier I saw some kid that already had Ronaldo on the back of his shirt. Looked like he'd written it on himself with marker pen. Hadn't even bothered to do a number. fooking disabled
Samilktray Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 All aboard the Real Madrid band wagon. Can't wait to get my Ronlado Real Madrid shirt. Those on the Barca bandwagon different then?
Uncle Albert Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Damn right I will be getting a Real shirt with Ronaldo on the back - that's if Ronaldo does actually go. I can still there being a twist in this. Thinking about the Real team next season, on paper it looks beautifully good but I can't see them doing well. Casillas Ramos - Pepe - ? - DrentheDiarra - SneijderRonaldo - Kaka - RobbenRaul

It probably only took him 5 mins to do it, blimey he does more work than most other people in this country. Hope an English team come in for Robben he is brilliant, would be good at United. Not heard much about the David Villa signing but if he goes there then surely Ruud will be off somewhere like Italy then? Huntelaar is leaving Real aswell isnt he? Wasted overthere anyway.
