Batted very well this morning, Anderson and Swann especially. They aren't tail-enders.

Given Hughes a bit too much width, and he's taken advantage. Flintoff could well be on straight after lunch.

I see people are panicking already and hurling the abuse. Does any other country in the world thrive on negativity as much as hours? Makes you sick.

If only they'd realize, the tide didn't come in early enough! :unsure:lol

Im pretty sure reports said Belgium were leaders of negativity followed by Japan second and Azerbaijan in third place. Pretty sure the rankings had England around 6/7th

Maybe we're sick of losing? I know we haven't lost yet but its not looking good, I agree though save the criticism until (if) we've lost.

Anyway the Aussies are showing how strong their batting is, I heard sat might rain all day?????

I'm off to the US in 4 hours I wont be able to see anymore, just one of the many things I'll miss about England.

Hopefully we'll have a much better day tomorrow and the scores will be similar, it'll be an amazing effort by our bowlers to keep them below 500.

Was quite impressed and happy with the target we set, i'm abit worried now. Should be finished work to watch abit of this tomorrow!

Harmison would have made no difference whatsoever today, the short stuff didn't work this morning anyway.

Just one of those days.

Maybe not, but Panesar's form doesn't justify a spot in the Lions squad let alone the Test team. If they were going to pick two spinners, the second should have been Rashid.

Rashid not only looked ineffective against the Aussies in the warm up game he also went for a few runs, Rahsid has two less wickets than Monty in county cricket so what form does he have?

His time will come.

Rashid has bowled three times less overs than Panesar in a higher division with an average of 38 compared to Monty's 87...

Still not great but a damn sight better when you consider his batting and fielding. Another reason why I would have liked to see Rashid is that he's a leg break bowler. Something we haven't had for a while.

Fair enough, it has only been a day, but at the moment I don't think our bowling attack is good enough and if Broad turns out to be injured, we're fucked.

C-man's right Monty shouldn't be anywhere near the side, would of liked to have seen Onions playing. Yes the wicket is turning, but dosen't that show you how little confidence/ability to gain a wicket Monty has at the moment.

They've got us on the ropes, we badly need an early wicket or two.

Flintoff's looked our best bowler.

Took your time looking those stats up... :P and of course he's going to have a lower average bowling three time less overs.

Rashid's batting and fielding are much better obviously but that's not what the selectors were looking for obviously else he would be in.

Anyway the Monty debate is getting on my tree he's been picked and that's it and this is the only game we'll use two spinners in and he won't be seen again as Swann rightfully has the spinners job.

I'm not sure how you've come to the conclusion that they're not good enough after about 70 overs and tbh how much better can it get? Monty out for a normal wicket for Harmison/Onions is the only option available, I'm certain thing will look up after the new ball comes, they just got a bad one. This is far from over especially if the pitch goes as much as they say it will.

Monty looks way out of form. If that is what he has been bowling in the nets/ in county cricket, then he shouldn't be anywhere near the side. Swann looked like the average player that he is.

Swann hasn't done much either and he's in form, Obviously credit to the Australian batsmen is due also.

Christ I'm doing some editing. lol
