Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Please tell me these are great deliveries. First was decent, second was too high but given out by the umpire.
Milky Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Please tell me these are great deliveries. The second one wasn't out. Going over the top. Both have just been straight really.
Salieri Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Rain would be nice, i've got a bet on the draw! Our feeble bowling "attack" let us down as i thought they would. Gotta try something different in the next test, try Harmy and Onions i spose. One or both of the spinners will have to be sacrificed, if it's just one, then maybe Broad will have to step aside. It's a real sense of deja vu with England once more!
Milky Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 How the fook did he give that out though. Perhaps he just wanted to get into the game.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 How the fook did he give that out though. Perhaps he just wanted to get into the game. when the umpires were talking earlier did you see one of the England players tap him on the shoulder and move away so he looked an no-one was there, perhaps he was pissed off at that.
The Reverend Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 I'm hardly a cricket expert, but I do like to watch the Ashes. Is it me or are both teams pretty rubbish? I mean, if the England team of now were playing Australia two years ago, we would be getting smashed, and if the England team of the last ashes/the one before was playing this Aussie side, we would be beating them aswel?
Corky Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Glad the rain has arrived, Bopara was unlucky but it's an uphill battle. Let's get a draw and move on to Lord's.
Edmund Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Bloody hell, worrying!674-6d And now were 20-2 I know its depressing. At this rate Australia wont even have to bother with a second innings. Suppose to be a clear day tomorrow so can see them bowling us out without them having to bat again.
Fosse Boy Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Rain over Wales would be brilliant tomorrow. We're going to need to regroup and think seriously about our bowling attack before the second test if we're to have a chance of wining the series.
Gaffer Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Not read this thread at all, too lazy all i know is KP did something stupid... but how we doing?
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Bowling isn't the only problem, It'll probably be masked over by the poor bowling display but the batsmen need to have a word with themselves too. I'm not worried yet we're historically slow starters, if the next test goes the same way then then that's a different matter.

Yeah, I'm usually the first person to point out that whenever we change our bowlers around that it's the batsmen we should be a having a word with instead, but in this case I think a little tinkering with the bowling attack would probably be justified. Onions in.

I'd go the other way and have Harmison in.
purpleronnie Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 I just hope some batsmen step up and hit centuries.
Ultra Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Strauss and Pietersen need to bat through at least two sessions tomorrow. With a weak Aussie attack and a slow pitch which shows little sign of taking spin, there's no reason why they shouldn't.

Pietersen needs to concentrate and think about his shots. Quality player, but always likely to play a rash shot. If he can stay in, and everyone bats sensibly (defend the good balls, hit the bad ones), we should save the Test.
Brainy Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Australia lost 6 wickets in what, 17 hours? No doubt we'll lose 8 in about 5.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 The situation is made for Collingwood when he gets in, I think he'll save the test.
C-man Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 I think KP will do the business tomorrow, and his rush of blood to the head in the first innings will become irrelevant if he can repeat his Oval 2005 heroics.

C'Mon England, not too late to salvage some pride (and a draw!)
