James. Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 I didn't have you down as a slater. I'm talking of those who don't realise the conditions. If the ball does fook all, there isn't too much more you can do but hope the batsmen get themselves out, and the Aussies have stuck in. A few of the England guys gave it away in the 60's/70's. Definately hope for rain now anyway. Makes our life easier. I was just messing, but yeah agreed, can't see us winning this now and although the rain will dampen any excitement left in the match, it's probably the best thing that could happen from an English perspective. My comment was more a reflection on how shit it is when as an England supporter you start to hope that the weather saves us.
purpleronnie Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 Monty! We're getting some swing and movement off the pitch unlike yesterday, and the wickets are coming. This is where the slaters lack perspective and knowledge. Yep everythings going great.
Milky Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 Yep everythings going great. It was with the second new ball. That's a long time ago now.
purpleronnie Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 I'm just messin, hope its a draw to piss the Aussies off and we'll win the next one.
Corky Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 Good to get Clarke out near the end, but Australia still in a very strong position. They've batted sensibly, Katich, Ponting, Clarke and North have all done very well.
Ultra Posted 10 July 2009 Posted 10 July 2009 We needed our bowlers to turn up. They haven't. Flintoff's lack of match-sharpness at Test level has proved costly. Let's hope he improves in the second Test next week.
Milky Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 We've got two spinners and a fourth day pitch, yet he continues with uninspiring seam bowling. <_< crazy fool
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 We've got two spinners and a fourth day pitch, yet he continues with uninspiring seam bowling. <_< crazy fool I just said the exact same thing to the dog, he agreed.
Milky Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Sack the weather forecasters for getting our hopes up. Bright bloody sunshine.
purpleronnie Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Oh great, no doubt if we get on top in a future match the heavens will open.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Oh great, no doubt if we get on top in a future match the heavens will open. You just know as soon as the Aussies come to bowl the clouds will roll in and the ball will swing all over the shop.
Nugent Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Cook gone - 13-1 Looks like we're going to have to hope for rain to bail us out.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Oh for Gods sake!!!! Start singing! we need rain.
purpleronnie Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Was it a good delivery? If they get themselves out by stupid shots I'll get my mad up.
Nugent Posted 11 July 2009 Posted 11 July 2009 Please tell me these are great deliveries. Last wicket was a dubious lbw, looked to be too high.
