Budweiser Posted 5 August 2009 Posted 5 August 2009 I couldn't believe they wouldn't let one of the Barmy Army in with the trumpet, ridiculous. Can't wait for the last day
Tilley Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 No KP & no Flintoff. Oh & now Matt Prior is having back spasms. Wonderful.
James. Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 We won the toss so Prior, hopefully, won't be required for awhile anyway. Apparently the pitch is good but there's a bit of overhead cloud, could be interesting.
Milky Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 No KP. No Flintoff. It's an Ashes nightmare Long tail now aswell. gulp.
Tilley Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Lucky Strauss, eh. I've got a bad feeling about this test match.
CKB Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I've got a bad feeling about this test match. That's what i'm thinking!
Flynny Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I'd have played the batsman and swapped Broad for Harmy - at least in that case we can resort to playing for the draw if we want.
Milky Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 He's had a very poor series. They might regret not picking a batsmen here.
marko Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Bopara is not a number 3, get the arrogant tyke out the team and bring in Trott.
Joe. Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Bopara should have been dropped before this anyway. No doubt sealed the inevitable for the next test for himself now though. Bloody hell.
surrifox Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 this is already looking like 1-1 . We're 1-0 up why shorten the (already somewhat brittle and unconvincing ) batting line up? Why pick Swann on a surface where spin rarely plays a major part? Why continue with Bopara (who I believe will be a useful test match player in years to come ) who is out of form and rarely looks like imposing himself? Why not drop Broad for a specialised batsman since it is only his contributions with the bat that are keeping in the side.
Milky Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 After an hour? He's waited three tests to have a rant like that.
Corky Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Well, not the best opening hour. Not sure about Bopara really, great catch to dismiss Strauss though. Long way to go, Australia started very well at Edgbaston then collapsed, if our middle order plays sensibly then we could still post a big total.
