Granno Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 To celebrate Leicester City's return to the Championship, the club has commissioned Champions! (How The Title Was Won), a stunning collection of over 150 photographs from the memorable 2008/09 season. The photos, taken by City snapper Neil Plumb, with captions by Jon Sanders, encapsulate the many high points of an unforgettable season. City boss Nigel Pearson, was given a sneak preview of proofs and commented: "Neil and Jon were on the journey every step of the way and therefore well placed to capture and document every moment." He added: "They have put together a fantastic publication and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have. It has certainly brought back some pleasant memories of what was an unforgettable campaign." Plumb was given access to all areas throughout the season to shoot photos for the 136-page hardback book, priced at £18, which also includes a foreword by Foxes boss Nigel Pearson. City fans can pre-order their copy for delivery on the day of release, in the week before the new season kicks off, or collect at a special launch event, on the same day. There is also the chance to take advantage of a special 3 for 2 offer via LCFC Direct (only available on pre-orders). Simply buy Champions! and the Leicester City Miscellany (priced £9.99 by Matt Bozeat and also due for release this August) and receive a free copy of Leicester City On This Day. lavrentis Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 LCFC will do everything to squeeze the last bit of cash from our supporters.
MC Prussian Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Jimmy's Website. That's some fantastic shots there. Amazing. Is the guy Leicester-based?
Granno Posted 29 June 2009 Author Posted 29 June 2009 That's some fantastic shots there. Amazing. Is the guy from Leicester-based? I think so, I always thought he was a local lad and a fan. I may be wrong though.
MC Prussian Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 I think so, I always thought he was a local lad and a fan.I may be wrong though. I just noticed the grammatical error in my previous post. But yeah, another moneymaker for the club... Imagine what we'd have to put up if we were in the Premier League...
Corky Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 LCFC will do everything to squeeze the last bit of cash from our supporters. And why not? I can see quite a few buying this
Kilworthfox Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 LCFC will do everything to squeeze the last bit of cash from our supporters. THIS EVERY SECOND OF EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY
Milky Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 They don't force you to buy it. Money doesn't grow on trees either.
Daggers Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 THISEVERY SECOND OF EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY Don't think anyone has a gun at their head on this one. Don't want the book? Don't buy the book.
NorthernFox Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Normally overpriced but I enjoy all the books/dvds etc.
Kilworthfox Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Don't think anyone has a gun at their head on this one.Don't want the book? Don't buy the book. It has a bit to do with the book, but the book is symbolic of the clubs attitude towards the supporters. Which is what my comment was more about. However you are correct if you don't think something is worth the value fixed then don't buy it, same with other things in life I suppose.... Clothes, types of food, Season Tickets
Ford Super Sunday Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I hope it'll be on Amazon, or HMV or Play, some website which is much cheaper than the LCFC one. Not paying £18 for it, I canny afford that, maybe if it was £12
Munzie Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Something else to moan about The closed season is really boring! They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. Fans like choice of what club related merchandise they buy. It's not complusory to purchase it. If you don't like reading (or starring at pictures that don't move), spend your money on the DVD or something really useful like the city gnome.
Matt Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Bought this yesterday, Sucker I know, It was expensive and no doubt will be a tenner come the end of the season or something but I bought it anyway there are some brilliant, good quality photos in there and it is very well presented, Just to let the media whores () of FT know there are a couple photos of them in there - which may make them interest in getting the book as a keepsake maybe? Tried to find the photos on the OS but could only find the one i've posted. The other pictures are Alexikokopops (Is it?) with his spongebob facepaint at Southend, and SystonFox (?) at Crewe dressed in Hawaiian clothes with Schoolgirls at Crewe.
syston_fox Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 FT features nicely from Rotherham away. Good collection of us in that photo.
