BBC - The Football League Show 2009/10

I think my favourite bit is watching Manish fractionally but repeatedly miss his marks in turning to about the 5328th camera angle.

You can tell that he learnt his trade on the radio. :giggle:

Great show, and great having two City presenters in Linekar and Manish :D

Although highlights-wise, i really wish some of the cameramen would zoom out when filming the game, on some matches the whole screen was filled with the player with the ball, totally ruined the scope in terms of the movement of the other players and the crowds reactions....but thats just me! <_<

I must admit, the fact that we aren't an afterthought is pleasing this young lady.

no Beautiful Day or Pear Cider adverts mean it's a winner already in my book

Very very good, much improvement on the last pile of shite that gave us 9 seconds of coverage every week. Enjoyed the whole programme. :D

Much better programme than the Championship, more time, no adverts, some decent punditry, and they spent most of the programme showing action, rather than Matt Smith talking slowly.

Definite improvement.

I enjoyed the show, although I'm not too keen on that "Watchdog" type format where they cut to somebody reading out texts & emails. I don't want to know that Barry from Reading who didn't go to the game or watch it on tv or listen to it on the radio thinks his team will be in the conference within 5 years, or that Paul from Norwich is wiping his arse with his season ticket.

All in all though it was a vast improvement on what we had last season.

I hate how dark and depressing our stadium looks, must be something to do with the cameras. It was bright and sunny and yet it looked really drab on tv.

They need to sort that out.

My only gripe is that tart reading out text and e-mails. Not sure about others, but I really don't care what others have to say - that's what forums are for. Just show us the football. And it feel like we were watching Crimewatch, like.

But it's still 100x better than that pile of shite ITV produced. Overall I'm quite pleased with this program.

It's better than ITV, ITV haven't got the rights for the highlights programme, That's all I have asked for the past few years = I'm happy.

Anything was going to be better than The Championship, so this was refreshing. The e-mails were a bit cringeworthy though to be fair.

Towards the end of the league 2 round up , my picture changed to some women walking about in a toilet , ( I thought I'd pressed the remote , but I hadn't ) and the it went back to the football , did this happen to anyone else ?

I don't really know what I expected. Felt a bit letdown by the bargain basement set - I guess they decided that as MOTD is their flagship football highlights programme showing the big boys they should let that have the swish set which I understand but it just felt a bit, well cheap to me. I quite liked Manish though some weird moments where he seemed to jerk sideways Adam Sandler fashion to find the latest bizarre camera angle but overall he seemed to fit in with thetone of the programme.

I suppose with 3 leagues and 90-odd goals to cover in just over an hour they're going to have to rush through a little but if they cut out the phone-in rubbish they'd have some extra time to focus on the games. They could do with lengthening it to 2hours, having 1 feature game from League 1 and 2 to ensure this programme encompasses the whole football league and allow Claridge and Holloway or whoever else they get to give some genuine incite into what's gone on - I mean actually focus on particular games rather than the dubiously vague offerings offered last night.

Although I glad to see the rest of the league get an airing on BBC1 and think it should have been done sooner, it didn't really feel like it offered a whole lot more than just watching the action on East Midlands Today (not that I have for about 12 years mind).

Also it would be nice to have some sort of intro tune and get rid of that awful intro video they had last nightsomething with the mascots like on the trailers.

Still, at least no Andy fookin' Townsend or Robbie bloody Earle - as soon as they appear on ITV - especially Champions League and World Cups - you feel like your watching Audley Harrison give his views on Muhammed Ali. And thank fook that bloody U2 song isn't on.

I quite liked the fact that after our highlights they spoke to Steve about us as one of his former clubs and didn't talk to Holloway at all at that point.

And what sorts of this were Lineker and Manish saying about us?
