Onions Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 According to Wiki he's joined Sheffield United.. :( Trusting Wiki, big mistake.
Ultra Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Sometimes it's right - hopefully not on this occasion though. We'll find out in the morning.
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 If we miss out on this guy it further proves that, although we are pretty much up there when it comes to 'how big we are' in championship terms, we're still far too way down the pecking order imo. We'll only attract the better players once we're better established in this league. By name is not enough obviously. We'll get there - just bring it - although it'll take at least a season.

richie8oy Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Middlesbrough are in talks with striker Leroy Lita, who was released by Reading at the end of last season. (Daily Mirror)
Leicesterboi Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 I think it's safe to say we wont be getting Lita. There seems to be more 'attractive' options available to him. No doubt he will speak to as many clubs as possible in order to bump up his wage demands!!
teblin Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Living in middlesborough isn't that attractive! But the cash maybe.
City Lad Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 why the sudden scramble for lita! he has been a free agent for months, this should of been sorted out long ago,but now who knows where he will end up!
Daveaway Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Can't see him going to that Rat pit Middlesbrough, Mido could be an option I guess, his wage demands maybe high. But after last nights game at Mansfield it shows that our attacking options are not the best. I know its only one game and a freindly. I think that MM and NP will need to start working overtime in the next week and get a striker in who can gel into the team before it's too late.

I dont think Mido is the type of player who will gel into a team. He's a trouble causing little S**t!
ha77y Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 According to Wiki he's joined Sheffield United.. :( it says on wiki: Sheffield United had a seven figure sum accepted by Reading for Leroy Lita on 13th January 2009, but Lita rejected the contract offer and decided to fight for his place at Reading.[11] On 15 May 2009 Lita was told along with Michael Duberry, club captain Graeme Murty and Marcus Hahnemann that their contracts would not be renewed.

Seems strange that is has taken this long and suddenly everyone's in for him. Pretty slim chance we'll get him but we can pray.
Brainy Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 According to Wiki he's joined Sheffield United.. :( There, it says Grays Athletic now

One season is enough to take your attraction away....they are still suffering.
leicesterseddon Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 According to Wiki he's joined Sheffield United.. :( Always a bad start to a sentence...
haraven Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 George Bush often referred to Wikipedia when he was in need for some quick info.
SMX11 Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Who says we are even after him??? I wouldn't be dissapointed if we didn't get him, we can get someone better in my opinion.

foxoffderby Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Who in your opinion could we get that is better then? <_< I agree with you Zapod, its all very well saying we can do better try naming some names that would actually come. Think were suffering from League 1 syndrome where players and and their agents think they are better off going to an "established" Championship team. We've been linked so many players this summer but they all tend to go somewhere else unless we pay them wages which are over the odds. I would love to have Lita, like I would of liked Beckford but cant see them coming. I think Lita will sign for Sheff Utd, as they seemed to be best team prepared for promotion this season along with WBA. Next season we will be better at attracting the right players.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 If we stay up... We wont stat up unless we get two quality strikers. Apart from Lita, the others seem to have been snapped up by other clubs.
