Leroy Lita on his way to Middlesboro'

My main reservation is that (judging from comments on here) he seems to be temperamental, a confidence player and can be lazy - we already have DJ to tick all these boxes! I think Nige and the team would have their work cut out to turn around both of these players, so I wouldn't be bringing in Lita unless Campbell was definitely on the way out. One of them is bad enough, but having both of their egos and attitudes to deal with could harm the spirit of the squad.

DJ isn't fit to wipe his arse though. We should sign Lita and then have a public half-time flogging on the centre circle of DJ Crappal against Swansea. Bound to get a full house for that.

NP must have been reading my posts on here.

Very good signing he would be.

Not much news in the last few months.

We've made a few signings but no shocking, surprising, Tunchev-esque ones yet that really make news.

We would be crazy not to offer a deal to free agent Leroy Lita.

He's not been that great recently but he still managed 7 goals in 16 games on loan at Norwich last season and they went down.

And in 47 appearences in the Premier League with Reading he bagged 8 goals, thats twice as good as Fryatts dismal record in the Championship and they are Premier League goals.

And as for his career Championship record, in 60 games he's scored 22 goals. Thats better than a goal every 3 appearences.

To compare in Fryats last 62 appearences in the Championship, he's scored a shit 5 goals. Thats worse than a goal every 12 games, embarassing.

It's obvious with those records, plus the fact Lita is free, that we should sign him.

I hope NP has noticed this.

Had a feeling we would be properly linked with him sooner or later...

14k wages? i guess our ground and potential gates are higher than average for the champ which would explain why we are able to offer those wages...

mixed feelings. i hope we get the interested/ motivated Lita. the other one would be a waste.

According to the latest wikipedia update on him, he is about to be signed by Sven for Notts County:

Leroy Halirou Bohari Lita(born 28 December 1984 in Kinshasa[1]) is a Congolese born English professional footballer. Lita is poised to become Sven's first signing at Notts County with his wages expected to exceed 25000 pounds. This deal will be the most lucrative in League 2's history.

Gotta love the free speech of nonsense sometimes ;)

If NP can get him fit and motivated and back playing like a Premier League player then he will score more goals than Fryatt and Howards total combined next season.

An odd statement to make. I can't really argue with it, although there are a lot of "ifs" there.

But if NP can work such magic, why doesn't he do it with Fryatt and Howard (or even Campbell) and save paying extra wages for Lita?

Suggestions this afternoon in the Campbell thread that DJ is on his way out - I hope I'm wrong, but this could be replacing like with like.

And before someone says it, of course it's possible that Pearson will get the best out of Lita. However he doesn't seemed to have managed to do that with DJ.

Didnt he used to work with pearson when he played for the under 21s?

We need a like for like that is going to actually play, a faster striker up front is an absolute must. Add to that his better finishing, stronger, cheaper (free to sign so wages over 3-4 years wouldn't come close to DJ's overall cost), attitude isn't perfect but we'll lose out on alot of good players if we're that picky.
