Sly Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 HOW?!I'm 22nd after 14 games. I've won TWO! I realised that my defence what dire so just decided to attack, attack, attack. It makes for some interesting scorelines. I finished 2nd in the end. I had a bit of a disastrous run in to say the least!! Getting thumped 8-3 at the Walkers by Reading being the highlight of my bad form!! I did pick up some good players along the way though, I think I made 11 permenent signings overall throughout the season and used all my long/short terms loans. I think the general rule is you devise a tactic then but players to fit that tactic and not try and horseshoe someone into a position. I lost Gallagher, Wellens and Dyer in January which hurt the team really. I couldn't find a decent left back throughout the campaign and got through about four in the season, Berner, Babayaro, Tunchev and my young Irish regen. Dan Gosling did a good job in the centre of the park with Shevley. Both Brown and Hobbs were fairly shocking in all honesty and Edgar Davids got worse as the campaign went on and could only last 45 minutes before he'd fall off. I ended up with the best attack and worst defence in the league mind! So far I've managed to land Riquelme on a free!! I'll post a picture of my squad at the start of season two when I'm at home later. I now have the world cup to look forwards to with Nigeria, chances of winning are somewhere between 0.1 - 3% I'd imagine. I believe their to be more chance of assembling a rubiks cube, inside another with a blindfold on.
Sly Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 HOW?!I'm 22nd after 14 games. I've won TWO! Oh forgot to add, this is my 2nd attempt with Leicester, the first was an utter disaster as I tried to play a contained/controlled game and retain possession ..... which didn't work at all.
Simo86 Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Loans take the piss now - gone are the days I could borrow Liverpool, Arsenal, Cheslea and Manchester Utd youngsters and ride them to sucess, buying the decent ones, casting aside the average ones. £1 million + for season long loans - I'm doing you a favour you ungrateful clubs! The haggling is non existant as well, you'd have though clubs would be willing to accept knock down prices for guys going out of contract? Ah well, mMy quest for an english nugget to put into my Atlanta team will continue later this evening. Doni's great in behind the front 1, but I sense at 36 he's seen the best of his days and will break a leg just after the window shuts leaving my tactics in shreds. If anyone knows of some good, cheap, year one AMC's please post, I'm happy to cheat with the scouting, Stuart Gray has come up with nothing so far. There is a young 17 year old lad who plays for a team called Banfield, I can't remember his name but he is the only one who isn't shaded out. I paid 1.2 mil for him. Bought him for the future, but has done wonders since i signed him. He is a AMLC but i think his best position is AMC.
Fox You Forest Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Sacked 10 games into my second season.Disastrous. But now I get to download that thing so I can manage Coalville Town. Link me up.
Sly Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Link me up. I think this is the link on the SI forums: LINK TO LEVEL 10 Their is one somewhere that went to level 11. I started a game with Ibstock but I found the game doesn't handle amateur football that well as you can basically approach anyone!

Mikey Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Really can't buy a win away at the moment. How does everyone play away?
Fox92 Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 HOW?!I'm 22nd after 14 games. I've won TWO! Same, but I am in Feb.
Mikey Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Now in February, and still down in 17th place, although seem to be playing better now. Signed this Icelandic Johansson in January on a free as well as Kakuta, Thiago and Barazite on loans.
StanSP Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Really can't buy a win away at the moment. How does everyone play away? Do you mean results or tactics??
Sly Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 I've decided I must have developed a decent attacking tactic as I've just beaten Holland with Nigeria 3-1 using the same tactics I adopted at Leicester. I've upload it to filefront so you lads can try it out as well. LINK

Only bad thing i've found is the time it takes to process the results. Which is understandable really, considering the amount of teams now involved.

Sly Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 I'll give that a try later on, I need all the help I can get! It's very Kevin Keegan-esq .... I score lots and care little about the art of defending.

Sly Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 are coalville level 10 and ibstock level 11? I think so.
The Doctor Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Really can't buy a win away at the moment. How does everyone play away? Attack, Attack, Attack. Also Set tackling to hard, try and put their key players out of the game as quickly as possible. did that against barca - injured messi after 4 minutes and won 6-2 in the nou camp. It's very Kevin Keegan-esq .... I score lots and care little about the art of defending. same here. i'll play a few defenders for a slight bit of balance. however gattuso in midfield deals with everything fairly well meaning i've scored 146 goals in 52 games and conceded just 18.
Edmund Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 What's with hitting the post/bar five times a game. Very unrealistic and needs tuning in the next patch. Started with Leicester and have given myself a £200 million kitty Glad they sorted the work permit leniency in this edition. Got the whole attacking quartet of Brazil under 20's at the Walkers.
Budweiser Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Haven't posted for a while about my current Leeds game. 1st season = League 1 Champions (108 points ) 2nd season = Play-off semi-finalists 3rd season = Championship Winners 4th season = 17th 5th season = Currently 14th 10 games in. Some awful defeats but two home wins against Man Utd and Chelsea Been offered loads of jobs and nearly went to Everton. I am looking to move though. Current team: Pantillmon Simpson Kjaer Raul (Re-gen) Bertrand (In desperate need for a LB) Crosas Zuculini Necip/McGeady Sessegnon Zaki Alex (Re-gen) Immense player. An amazing 16 year old is in the Sheff Utd U18's. Unbelievable stats. I offered 10m (Lowest I could get) and he rejected my contract. So I spent 18.5m on Di Maria who's coming in Jan That youngster will be mine though, suprised Man Utd haven't got him like the rest
Maybes Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Notts County promoted to league one with 9games remaining. League is in the back aswell, barring me losing every game by a lot and 2nd place winning every game Epic.
lildave3 Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 are coalville level 10 and ibstock level 11? Coalville 9, Ibstock 10. I'm usually awful at FM, but i'm absolutely woeful this year!
StanSP Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Don't know if it's been said on here before but there's a cheat which mainly works for non-league sides. Put an offer in for a League 2 or possibly League 1 player for £0, and then just add in some clauses worht £40m each. Make sure the clauses are unrealistic though - go for the international one

Make sure the clauses are unrealistic though - go for the international one That's worked on all of them for years. I generally do this to aquire average players from the "hoem grown" country. Another good thing to do is use it to sign big players then sell them before they hit the targets. I believe the cluase then gets past on
StanSP Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Started a game as Luton. Wanted a challenge. Got Arsenal as a feeder club and they sent me Sanchez Watt on loan . Also signed Willy Topp, Sean Doherty and Stefan Milojevic on frees. Also got Luke O'Neill and Magnus Eikrem on loan. Any other recommendations. 11k in the bank
lcfc_jme Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Haven't played this for a wee bit 'cos I'm well busy with work (he says posting on here ) but I'm top of the Prem with Leic, and I've qualified for the knockout rounds of the Europa League top of my group. Go me.
