Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 His godlike touch was sublime today. He was everywhere on the pitch and read the game like a 80 year old great grandma reads Cathrine Cookson! Pace like a cheetah on steroids, muscling otherplayers off the ball like Charles Atlas, he was the line-leading super striker that we have been longing for since the days of Arthur Rowley. Not so much the Rooney as the Pele of the Championship, I can see him bossing defenses from Macclesfield to the Maracanã. He was able to integrate into the team like H1N1 integrates into an office of work-shy admin clerks and his movement was pure fluid, like a T-1000 terminator. Get that boy on a 10 year contract that requires him to constantly to be within a 2 mile radius of the Walkers Stadium, except on away days. PS. I only listened to the match on radio, but he did sound quite decent.

Bert Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 We're not going to get him on a permanant deal Sunderland have high hopes for this lad, and you can see why.
Anish Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Let's hope Bruce can attract some top quality strikers to the Stadium of Light, leaving Waghorn surplus to requirements. He was sensational today, MOTM on his debut with only 45 minutes on the pitch.

He was sensational today, MOTM on his debut with only 45 minutes on the pitch. I did say to C-man earlier "I hope Sunderland finish top 10 and don't want him next season." But yeah, could still be a bag of shit from here on in so I'll not get too excited just yet. (I am really though )
lou Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 The boy did good but its early days. If he is as good as he looks the Black Cats wont sell him in a million years Id be happy if we could just keep him for the rest of the seaon based on todays 45 mins. Keep it up Wagga!
Dames Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Wonder how Fryatt will react to this? Will he be more motivated to keep his place in the team or will he get grumpy that his untouchable status is now under question and he'll end up shifting back into the striker he was the season before last.
Babylon Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Not you too... Yes me too... I've not seen such a debut since junior lewis v Chelsea and lazcho since cov!!!! And we know how well they turned out!! Being serious though, his touch is amazing.

kimsalabim Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 FFS I wish people would wait until they'd at least seen players play before making any sort of judgement. I agree... Having seen Waghorn play, He was all over the place in that second half... We need to make his agreement longer... About 4 years should suffice... Top player. Will only get better...
Koke Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Our attacking outlet look quite good now tbh. Dany, Waghorn, Adams, Gradel, Dyer, Howard, Fryatt. They're all an attacking threat in their own respect.
