The Doctor Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 I don't even think it's mathematically possible that no side below 6th would pass the 53 point mark after the next four matches not over the next four for them but in the time span over which we play our next four (cov today, reading midweek, derby next saturday & cardiff a week on tuesday) they'll play 2 matches (mid week and next saturday) in which it's possible for no team below 6th to reach the 54 points needed to have any chance, mathematically, to catch us should we win our next 4.
C-man Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Interesting games this week. Very hard to call some of them. Love it when other play-off challengers face each other. Tuesday, 23 March 2010 Blackpool v Swansea Bristol City v Barnsley Doncaster v Newcastle Ipswich v Plymouth Middlesbrough v Preston Nottm Forest v Crystal Palace QPR v Derby Scunthorpe v Peterborough Wednesday, 24 March 2010 Cardiff v Sheff Utd Leicester v Reading Sheff Wed v Watford West Brom v Coventry
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Blackpool doing us a favour. Posh are losing which is pleasing.
Matt Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 2-0 blackpool Come on! And lets not have any of this bullshit should we draw or lose () tomorrow of 'Oh well teams around us slipped up last night'...NO! If teams around us slip up it's ideal for us to make the advantage count. We are going to make it count anyway!
FoxyPV Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Forest 1 up at half time We are going to win tomorrow night 15-0!!!!
Bert Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Best result of the night currently going down at Glanford Park.
ousefox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Posh have virtually gone now. No suprise really as they didn't add anything in either of the transfer windows.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Best result of the night currently going down at Glanford Park. Posh have virtually gone now. No suprise really as they didn't add anything in either of the transfer windows. They were virtually down when Ferguson went. Shocking tin pot club. If we can win tomorrow I might start to believe that we will definitely finish in the playoffs.
ousefox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 3-0 Blackpool now. Swansea don't usually let in many at all
Fosse Boy Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Oh Peterborough you absolute joke. Go back to the lower leagues now, then all your bandwagon jumping fans can go back to their day jobs of decking themselves in Man U/Liverpool/Chelsea gear again.

Go back to the lower leagues now, then all your bandwagon jumping fans can go back to their day jobs of decking themselves in Man U/Liverpool/Chelsea gear again. They started that about Chistmas! Really, really hope we put them down at their place. EDIT: Blackpool 4-0 Swansea
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 I know its the wrong thread but its now West Ham 0-3 Wolves. Have 5 live on, and you should here the boos and all the chants of 'your not fit to wear the shirt'. Really hope West Ham go down but think they will get away with it. Back to the championship, I hope PNE equalise at Boro then I'll be very happy.
purpleronnie Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Blackpool doing us a favour. Posh are losing which is pleasing. Now I'm probably missing something here but surely blackpool winning isnt doing us a favour? We want to cement our play off place so the gap between us and 7th is the crucial one, and blackpool winning is closing the gap, so how can that be good?.

I didnt realise that they would go 7th, so in theory I suppose it isnt great for us, but it means we have two games in hand on Swansea and a far superior GD, so we stay 4th and can start to pull away from them too.

I can understand that but I'd rather the teams in 7th, 8th, 9th losing, making our play off spot more secure.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 QPR 1-1 Derby Ipswich 0-2 Plymouth That will make the relegation fight look a bit better for Plymouth.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 I'd laugh if Swansea threw the playoffs away following this result. Hard to believe they have a mint defence!
Corky Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 So, Swansea lose while Blackpool win, mixed result there for us. Newcastle beating Doncaster is good, Middlesbrough winning not what we wanted. We just need to keep picking up points.
C-man Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Yeah don't really understand how Blackpool winning is a good result for us. Draw is always the best result. Boro looking strong at home. Think they might sneak 6th if they beat us on the final day. Big game tomorrow between Sheffield United and Cardiff. Draw please.
