Coyle doesn't fancy a return to Bolton then!

I am not sure if that would be a good move or bad move for him. I know it's only down the road, but he has built up a nice little squad at Burnley and Bolton arn't a bigger club than Burnley, are they?

No chance of Coyle going to Bolton I don't think. If he turned down Celtic I can't see Bolton wetting his appetite just a few months later.

Burnley are doing quite well and have a pretty good chance of staying up and him and the fans there have a great rapport. I think he's gonna stick with Burnley for a while yet. Hope so anyway cos I like Burnley :D

Yes I forgot about him turning down Celtic.

I wouldn't go to Bolton anyway.

Please, someone, explain to me why going from Burnley to Bolton, which is seeming even more inevitable with Coyle now, why oh why is that a good move for him?

He turned down both Scotland and Celtic, so why would he go to Bolton? Surely it can't be because he used to play for them, not soley for that reason.

Bizzare move really.

My thoughts exactly... got to be about money, I think hes making a big mistake personally hes in a win-win situation at Burnley. If things go wrong at Bolton though he'll seriously damage his chances of ever getting a decent management job again. Daft

Don't understand this at all. Who the hell would turn down Scotland and Celtic and then go to Bolton?

I wonder who Burnley will get if he does leave.

I suspect the net result will be they'll both be relegated.

SSN on the story.....

Sky Sports News sources understand Bolton and Burnley have agreed a compensation deal for manager Owen Coyle.

The Trotters identified Coyle as their primary target after bringing Gary Megson's reign to an end in the wake of last Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Hull City.

An approach was made for Coyle, who has enjoyed great success during a two-year spell in charge at Turf Moor.

The Scottish tactician, who spent time with Bolton as a player, has already held talks with Reebok Stadium bosses about filling the vacant position.

And he has now moved a step closer to being appointed as manager after Bolton offered the £3.6million it would take for the Clarets to release Coyle.

Burnley chairman Barry Kilby will meet with Coyle later on Monday before an announcement is made about his future.

Absolute madness... as said above who turns down those two jobs and pisses off to Bolton!! lol!!

He must be getting a hell of a lot from Bolton.

However the fact that theyve just paid 3.6m for Coyle must have reduced his potential january budget at bolton.

Bolton have more potential for future success than Burnley imo. Blackpool were/are better off than Leeds, but it didn't stop Simon Grayson moving just for the scope for potential.

If Coyle's been hired to do a qucik fix job, it's definitely a bad move, but, if Gartside has any sense, lets him rebuild, and gives him time I think the move suits Coyle.

He's gone it seems, statement on SSN states he wants to leave Burnley and join Bolton.

He MUST have been promised a war chest to spend in January, surely? This could backfire spectacularly if it goes wrong, and he could be about to ruin a very good reputation.

Good luck Owen, you'll need it.

Yeah BBC have reiterated from Burnley's website that he wants to leave.

And only compensation (reportedly £3m) just needs to be finalised

Sweepstake on when Pearson's name gets linked with the job anyone?

This may be taking it out of context and I know I'm sticking my neck out here a bit, but could there be a scenario similar to Liverpool in terms of if Torres leaves, Benitez will leave.

So if Fryatt leaves Pearson might leave?

As I said, sticking my neck out but hope it doesn't happen!

I'm absolutely shocked that Coyle is going to Bolton. I canna make any sense out of this decision.

There's a few good managers out of work at the mo so hopefully Burnley get a good replacement who helps them to stay up.

Stoke v Fulham is now on Sky tonight because the cup match is off.

Cheers pal for the heads up. ;)
