FoxyPV Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Almunia is a fooking muppet! United's second highest scorer this season - OG! best title run-in in years
The Doctor Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Credit where credit is due, Birmingham had the fair share of the first half and looked the better team going into the break. Second half Arsenal bossed it, I would like people to watch Football First/MOTD/Goals on Sunday and tell me how that biased twat Howard Webb came to the decision to disallowed Diaby's goal when it was 0-0, awful decision, as were some of the yellow cards he dished out. A tad worrying when he is supposed to be one of the top refs, if not the best ref, in the country. (That is another matter anyway) Arsenal were very unlucky with the equaliser, Cameron Jerome was five yards offside, it then hit Kevin Phillips in the face and looped over Almunia, so yeah, all in all pretty gutted with the draw. At first I thought Arsenal were out the title race after the game, but I will see how Man Utd get on without their one man team against Bolton and against Chelsea at Old Trafford next week before dismissing Arsenal's chances just yet. he's disallowed it for diaby using excessive force in winning the ball from bowyer. Very very soft free kick though but birmingham should perhaps have had a penalty for campbell pulling back jerome.
lildave3 Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 I've said it from the start: Champions at work. (Chelsea)
Joe. Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Liverpool were quality today, completely tore Sunderland apart. Torres should have had a hat-trick at least, but the two he did score were both lovely goals. The first is worth watching on MOTD2 later, absolute class.
lildave3 Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Yeah Torres' first was top notch. Last few games i've seen Liverpool in they've looked a lot better. Played some good stuff.
Jimothy Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Yeah Torres' first was top notch. Last few games i've seen Liverpool in they've looked a lot better. Played some good stuff. Much better now putting Gerrard in the centre of midfield. I've been saying it for months, they need a system the works for all their players and doesn't rely in that Torres/Gerrard partnership. Sure, it's brilliant when it works but if one of them is missing or not playing well, Liverpool are awful. They could have played today with Ngog and Aquilani and still have won that game with ease. I honestly think if Rafa had played this simple 442 system all season, we'd have a four way title race rather than three.
shen Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 <rant>...how that biased twat Howard Webb...<\rant> At first I thought Arsenal were out the title race after the game, but I will see how Man Utd get on without their one man team against Bolton and against Chelsea at Old Trafford next week before dismissing Arsenal's chances just yet. Even if Arsenal finish third and just a few points off first then it is a bloody good achievement considering they were 11 points off Chelsea at one stage. I just would like to wonder how different if would have been if Robin Van Persie hadn't got injured playing for Holland, or on the other hand, Man Utd or Chelsea had to go so long without Rooney or Drogba. Yeah, who's being biased here? Man Utd did well with their no-man team. In fact, you couldn't have chosen a more ill-timed moment to highlight the importance of Rooney and Drogba when both teams go on to destroy their opponents without them! You conveniently forget that Chelsea were without Drogba during the African Cup; that Essien has been out the whole year so far; that they've been forced to play with their THIRD-choice keeper; that they've lost one of the most dangerous fullbacks in the league to injury; that they've been without Joe Cole for most of the season. You conveniently forget that Man U have been without Vidic for many games this year, as well as crucial injuries to Giggs, Ferdinand and Van Der Sar. Yet, like Wenger and the Arsenal fans I know, you keep moaning about how RVPs (and now Ramseys) injury is costing them their title challenge. It's ridiculous to mention that he was injured playing for Holland, it's not like it's their fault an Italian injures their player is it? How come Wenger isn't asking Stoke and/or Shawcross to pay for Ramsey's wages but he keeps complaining about how national teams should compensate clubs? I like Arsenal and find them entertaining to watch. Out of the three at the top, they're probably the ones I would sympathise with, but come on! Pull yourself together and take those red-tinted cannon-shaped glasses of for a second and acknowledge that Arsenal are third on merit at this point.
Bert Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 How predictable of you, Matt. Have you watched the match today? Credit where credit is due, Birmingham had the fair share of the first half and looked the better team going into the break. Second half Arsenal bossed it, I would like people to watch Football First/MOTD/Goals on Sunday and tell me how that biased twat Howard Webb came to the decision to disallowed Diaby's goal when it was 0-0, awful decision, as were some of the yellow cards he dished out. Man Utd a 1 man team . Beat Bolton very comfortably yesterday without their apparantly only player. Arsenal don't have the strength in depth Utd or Chelsea do, mainly because Wenger is a bit of a tosser and won't do anything about. Arsenal are a bunch of pansies who can't take the rough and tumble, they always moan when they've been in a physical game. Fair enough "you've" missed Van Persie for the best part of the season, but they've had January to stengthen, but didn't. Your bias toward Arsenal is pretty bad as the points in bold will show. Here's hoping Utd's class come through. I'm sure Arsenal will win the league soon, but they'll never ever catch up with United or be as consistently as good them.
Corky Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Liverpool in the first half looked really good, Torres with two great goals.
FoxyPV Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Arsenal don't have the mental fortitude to win the title (and certainly not the 'keeper) Chelsea have missed Essien more than anyone else all season. The title is United's to lose.(especially since their third highest goalscorer is OG)
shen Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 Arsenal don't have the mental fortitude to win the title (and certainly not the 'keeper) Chelsea have missed Essien more than anyone else all season. The title is United's to lose.(especially since their third highest goalscorer is OG) Nonsense. They've hauled themselves back into contention after everyone had written them off. If anything that shows mental strength. But they do lack quality. I'll be one of the first to stick up for Bendtner, but he's no Drogba or Rooney and with no-one but Nasri in top gear currently, they will struggle to maintain the pressure on the top two.
BoneDog Posted 29 March 2010 Posted 29 March 2010 Torres was outstanding again today, pity his shot that hit the post never went in. His first goal was beautiful even though the defending was a little slack, but nobody could of stopped his finish. Before kick-off I thought that Sunderland were gonna cause Liverpool some problems but was soon proved wrong! Villa have blown it again, idiots, I was hoping they would get 4th spot but no hope now. Some of their defending yesterday was ridiculously crap, way below Premier League standards. Pity Arsenal didn't win yesterday cos I would like them to win the title, still in with a good chance though. Also felt sorry for Burnley today, they had some terrible decisions against them. Sometimes I don't know why we bother with officials, useless barstads. Blatant dive by the Blackburn lad, he decided to go down one step after he had been slightly brushed against by the defender, and the keeper was nowhere near him. It's looking bleak for Burnley but they may still pull something out of the bag and have a miraculous survival

They have only got back into the title race as ManU and Chelsea have done their best to throw it away. It's the best title race in years because no one seems to want to win. One thing I can say about Bendtner is he's not lacking in confidence
leicesterfox86 Posted 29 March 2010 Posted 29 March 2010 Almunia is a fooking muppet! United's second highest scorer this season - OG! best title run-in in years He really is and to be honest, I would go as far as this Arsenal fan in terms of how much he has cost them this season. When will they realise that they need a decent keeper to win things?
shen Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 They have only got back into the title race as ManU and Chelsea have done their best to throw it away. It's the best title race in years because no one seems to want to win. One thing I can say about Bendtner is he's not lacking in confidence Surely that implies that Arsenal have determination and the two others are nervous, not the other way around He really is and to be honest, I would go as far as this Arsenal fan in terms of how much he has cost them this season. When will they realise that they need a decent keeper to win things? I don't think Almunia has had a particularly bad season. I've never rated him and wondered before the Brum match why Wenger persists with him, but in fairness I couldn't remember any calamitous moments by him this season. Oh how that's changed now...
Mikey Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Anyone else watching United - Chelsea? Man U all over them 2nd half, but its still 1-0 Chelsea.
FoxyPV Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Anyone else watching United - Chelsea? Man U all over them 2nd half, but its still 1-0 Chelsea. Listening to it in work - seems United are toothless in attack and Chelsea have taken their foot off the pedal in the second half. Chelsea have just scored! eat my words
Mikey Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Chelseas goal was offside by about a yard. Macheda makes it 2-1. I hate Chelsea.
FoxyPV Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Need Arsenal to win to make it exciting. Darren Bent has scored two against Spurs (should have had three) - rub it up ya 'Arry you willy puller Does anyone else want to punch Joe Cole in the face every time you hear his voice?
MikeyT Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Burnley 4 down after 20 minutes against Man City, and should have been more.
tartanowl Posted 3 April 2010 Posted 3 April 2010 Brian Laws Premier League manager. What a joke. Not good enough for us nevermind the top flight. Two years of contract left after this season. The Burnley fans must be furious.
