Fox You Forest Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 No doubt Wenger's Dad will be happy with that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiRn0fWccoo Some shocking defending from Pompey
Tilley Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Can I ask where the hatred of Arsenal from certain people stems from? Not causing an argument, just curious.
sdb Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 They were the team i'd have wanted to win the title (out of the top 3/4/5) until the Shawcross incident. They way Wenger and some of the players treated Shawcross then and after, and their 'we're being bullied' nonsense really pissed me off. What also annoys me is how they are so obviously 2 or 3 players away from being a really brilliant team...but they're not. Good football requires more than pretty play.
sdb Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 And I've always disliked Sol Campbell. Strange man. And Walcott's silly jog, anyone noticed that? Bendtner's quite up himself as well.
MC Prussian Posted 18 April 2010 Author Posted 18 April 2010 Fernando Torres out for the rest of the season (and maybe beyond that): Liverpool striker Fernando Torres will miss the rest of the season following knee surgery. The 26-year-old, who saw a specialist in Spain on Sunday, has been troubled by the problem for a number of weeks. A Liverpool spokesman said: "It was decided that he would need surgery on a torn cartilage in his right knee. "This will be carried out later on Sunday and, as a guide, the usual rehabilitation period for this type of procedure is around six weeks." His fitness will be closely monitored by Spain manager Vicente del Bosque with Spain's opening World Cup game against Switzerland on 16 June. Del Bosque must submit his final 23-man squad to Fifa by 1 June. Torres, who joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in 2007, will also miss out on meeting his former club in the Europa League semi-finals. The Spaniard has scored 22 goals in all competitions this season, despite being beset by various injuries. He was sidelined for a month after a knee operation in January and before Christmas struggled with a groin injury. Torres absence for the run-in for the season gives Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez a major headache in attack. Dirk Kuyt, who normally plays on the right of midfield, can play as a forward and has scored nine league goals this season. Young French striker David Ngog has scored just four goals in the Premier League this season, with his last league goal coming on 16 December in the 2-1 home win over Wigan. Benitez also has at his disposal 19-year-old Spanish striker Daniel Pacheco, who has made the occasional substitute appearance this season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8628770.stm
maddog Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Very harsh calling Wigan one of the worst teams in the PL, they've got some talented players, a decent up and coming manager still learning the ropes and pose a real danger. Consistentcy is all thats required for them to finish in the top 12. Arsenal are embarassing at times. Brilliant, and useless. I know Bendtner has scored some important goals this season but i just don't rate him at all, past it veterans Silvestre and Campbell in defence, hit and miss Walcott, and Fabianski is no where near as good as Chris Weale in my view. What has he ever done apart from some comedy errors.
AjcW Posted 18 April 2010 Posted 18 April 2010 Fernando Torres out for the rest of the season (and maybe beyond that): http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8628770.stm I doubt he will be seen in a Liverpool shirt again.
The Doctor Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 Can I ask where the hatred of Arsenal from certain people stems from? Not causing an argument, just curious. Purely down to wenger and his consistent moaning, conspiracy theories and general inability to accept defeat.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 I doubt he will be seen in a Liverpool shirt again. I am pretty damn sure he will be in Liverpool shirt next season, several parties are interested in buying Liverpool and the American's wouldnt dare sell Torres before they sell up, he is one of the main attractions for any investor to buy Liverpool. They won't sell him and he has a long time on his contract. Anyway Torres only played 22 games this season and only clompleted 10 of them, I didnt realise this and Liverpool wonder why this season has been a disaster, still scored 18 league goals in 22, impressive shit.
Shrenchel Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 Is it fvck. Torres isnt going to stay in Liverpool crying himself to sleep because the Intertoto cup doesnt exist anymore. He'll go.
purpleronnie Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 Liverpool look a pretty poor side without Torres or the now departed Alonso. I really cant see anyone buying Liverpool for 800m seems way too high. But hey maybe they will. They desperately need a new stadium too.
FoxyPV Posted 19 April 2010 Posted 19 April 2010 £800m for Liverpool It will be touch and go whether Torres stays at Liverpool next season (I'd say depending on how good he is at the WC) and if goes they are completely fooked! Pity.
FoxyPV Posted 22 April 2010 Posted 22 April 2010 If the Sun is to be believed Portsmouth owe 20p to Qatar Airways and £40 to Pukka pies. How can you owe 20p to an airline?
ousefox Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Good win for United. Two United players threw up as well which seemed odd
davieG Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Good win for United. Two United players threw up as well which seemed odd Sick of winning the league
MikeyT Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Shay Given just stretchered off, with what looks like a dislocated shoulder. Not good.
C-man Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Birmingham hard done by at Villa Park. Bad decision by the referee but I can see why he gave it... (cough, Holte End, cough) ... in all fairness to him it would have been nigh on impossible to tell that Johnson made contact with the ball from the position he was in. I thought Agbonlahor had nudged it ahead at first.
MikeyT Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Burnley really giving Liverpool a game of it. Good game so far.
Corky Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Burnley down, Chelsea strolling past Stoke currently.
