Bert Posted 27 August 2009 Author Posted 27 August 2009 Jesus he's not that bad, I don't understand why there's so much hatred for him here. He is past his best granted but it's not like he is playing week in week out. I'm not particularly bothered, if he goes so be it. He is no more than a fringe player so where has all the dislike come from? Are you staying Paul? Yes. Weeks later he fooked off to Blackburn.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Why did they let Varney out on loan? He's ok for a player who could be on the fringes of their first team. Oh well who am I to complain.
Granno Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Are you staying Paul? Yes.Weeks later he fooked off to Blackburn. I was actually gutted when that happened.
Matt Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Are you staying Paul? Yes.Weeks later he fooked off to Blackburn. Not only that he reiterated the point on national TV and if you believe the rumours he'd already bought a house up there - Well before the end of the season - Coincidence? , On this occasion I choose to believe the rumour. All the support and legal fees we gave him and he does all that. Not only this he is shit, and we should never have resigned him (Milan ), I said he'd be rubbish, never wanted him back, some people I know (Not on here - Although people on here were fairly happy with his return) were wanking over his return said he'd score 20 goals last season - Oh how I laughed at them.
AjcW Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 *Ahem - Clears Throat*YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS S SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Fook Off. Where's me Car Key's i'll drive him there. Save on petrol, We can get Wayne Brown to drop kick him there
Matt Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Save on petrol, We can get Wayne Brown to drop kick him there I'd pay (ALOT) to see that that. All together now - She said no Dickov...

I think they meant he'd play 20 games, in which case they were about right.
Uncle Monty Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Are you staying Paul? Yes.Weeks later he fooked off to Blackburn. Birch stuck the microphone in his face in front of 30 thousand fans, he was hardly going to say no. I don't know why i'm sticking up for him, if we got money for him would be a good reason to be happy but apart from that, who cares??

Yes, but is it so hard to sit on the fence and say "We'll have to wait and see what happens over the summer". Also it's only a loan so Derby won't be giving us any money for him, but probably taking his wages off our wage bill but I'd probably pay Derby to take him off our hands.
davieG Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Are you staying Paul? Yes.Weeks later he fooked off to Blackburn. Did he not also miss a critical penalty against Man City - coincidence I never really rated him that much sure he tried hard and got a few goals but he's not the sort of player I admire.
Matt Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Just thought i'd find a Derby forum to see their general consensus on the subject, let's just say they ain't too chuffed

Legend_in_blue Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Why isn't this headline news on Sky Sports News? This is funny. Very funny.
AjcW Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Re: Dickov!!!! Posted: 27-Aug-2009 14:12 in response to: JAY Reply Scored 6 in 11 at this level last year. Not a bad strike rate for a backup striker. Does he think theyve signed DJ
potter3 Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 wtf? Thought it was a joke when someone posted something about in another thread.
Ultra Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 am i right in thinking, that the same season or the one after he scored a penalty that put us out of the cup also? Yep, for Blackburn in 04-05. It seems strange that Clough junior's chosen to take Dickov off our hands when he could've had DJ instead..
suffolk fox Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 I thought this was a joke!!!????? WTF it's on our official site now he has gone!! Good bit of business by Nigel again, he once was a good played not now his legs are shot!!! (Or Short?))) To our bitter rivals too !!!!!

Matt Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 Cheerio, Cheerio, Cheerio Thank-Fuk, Do yourself a favour Dickov, Don't come back.
Legend_in_blue Posted 28 August 2009 Posted 28 August 2009 This from the Derby forum: Derby boss Nigel Clough has solved his striker crisis after swooping on Midlands rivals Leicester for Paul Dickov.Clough has signed ex-Manchester City forward Dickov on a five-month loan after a personal recommendation from Robbie Savage. Dickov, 36, is poised to make his debut in the local derby with bitter rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Derby...icle134421.html IF ROBBIE SAVAGE HAS RECOMMENDED HIM TO CLOUGHIE THEN THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. SAVAGES MOVE HERE WAS CONTROVERSIAL, BUT NOW HE'S LOVED BY MOST OF US AFTER THE GRAFT HE PUT IN TO TURN IT AROUND. SAVAGE & DICKOV ARE FIERY CHARACTERS WHO RISE TO THE OCCASION... HOW MANY OTHER STRIKERS HAVE WE GOT IN OUR SQUAD WHO HAVE NETTED OVER 100 CAREER GOALS? ANSWER:- NOT ONE - NOT EVEN HULSE. ALSO, MOST OF DICKOVS 100+ GOALS WERE AT PREMIERSHIP & CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL. YES HE MAY ONLY BE 5FT 5IN, YES HE MAY BE KNOCKING ON A BIT, BUT HE IS A BOX SNIFFER & WILL SCORE OFF A HALF CHANCE, AS WELL AS THIS HE IS A PAIN IN THE BACKSIDE TO OPPOSITION DEFENDERS. IMHO: HE IS JUST WHAT WE NEED AT PRESENT - EXPERIENCED WITH KNOW HOW TO SUPPORT OUR FLEDGLING STRIKERS, PLUS WE CAN PICK HIM UP CHEAP. IDEALLY, I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE KEVIN PHILLIPS AT PP (BUT IMHO BUDGETS WONT ALLOW & HE MAY NOT WANT TO COME). DICKOV IS OUT OF THE SAME MOULD AS PHILLIPS...BUT NOT AS PROLIFIC. BUT DICKOV HAS A 1 IN 3 GOAL RATIO OVER AN ENTIRE CAREER & THIS IS A VERY GOOD RETURN. FINALLY, CLOUGH SENIOR MADE MANY AN INSPIRED OLD TIMER SIGNING EITHER PERMANENT OR LOAN UNTIL HE GOT WHAT HE WANTED LONG TERM. WELL DONE NIGEL, A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK & ALL WILL GO QUIET ON THIS THREAD WHEN DICKOV POPS UP WITH VITAL GOALS. & WOULDNT IT BE IRONIC IF IT WAS AGAINST FOREST & LEICESTER? Er... he can't play against us? WHY DO YOU THINK SO MANY TREES & FESTER FANS ARE POSTING ON HERE TAKING THE "MICHAEL"? But we aren't...? WHILST THEY TRY TO MOCK WITH OBVIOUS JIBES:- HAS BEEN; TOO OLD; PACE HAS GONE ETC THEY KNOW DICKOV CAN STILL DO IT & THEY ARE WORRIED IT WILL BE AGAINST THEM ;-)   It's good to see that Savage can still stir it up. Well done! He's done us a huge favour here. Thanks Sav!
