I think the hatred of Dickov is a bit over the top.

Ok, he's not as good as he was and he isn't the best striker we have at the club.

BUT he's never really been given a chance since he's been back. He is brought on for 5 mins at the end of the games and even when he gets more time than that he's played on the wing or paired upfront with Fryatt which was never going to work.

I feel confident in saying a Dickov/Howard partnership would actually work pretty well.

He's a good backup to have, especially if Waghorn gets recalled at any point.

I'd sooner have Dickov on the bench than some French bloke who has an average scoring record in the French 2nd tier and who everyone seems to wank on about just because of a couple of goals on youtube.
