MooseBreath Posted 28 October 2012 Posted 28 October 2012 We were all thinking the same about you. Crafty Mark had hired an acting troll to bother all the other posters. Then you made this post, and we all knew that no one could have scripted something so stupid. Ah, back to your usuall abysmal form I see.
sphericalfox Posted 28 October 2012 Posted 28 October 2012 Ah, back to your usuall abysmal form I see. You might be contagious.
vandamman Posted 28 October 2012 Posted 28 October 2012 The show kept me interested throughout but overall I think it was disappointing. It all seemed over staged and the general production wasn't very good i.e. the explosions. At no point did the main guy seem genuinely panicked or overwhelmed by the situation he was in and the relationship between the guy and the little girl just looked like really bad, cringe worthy acting. Although as some people have mentioned 'why didn't he pick up a weapon and start smashing zombies' I don't think that is an automatic human response in a situation like that, even though its hard to predict how somebody will react. I reckon we'd all like think we'd be all action heroes, in reality I reckon i'd cack my pants and run like the guy did.

What people are forgetting that its a set, an enclosed and controlled environment. Do people really think this is a game of Borderlands? They've deliberately not left objects about that might be used as a swinging or throwing weapons, otherwise the actors playing the zombies would be in serious danger. It wouldn't be surprising that Brown has made suggestive comment during to hypnosis not to utilise items as weapons just in case. If people, including the person at the centre of this situation are acting weird, it's because the circumstances are weird. It's hardly going to be Shaun of the Dead wit and banter, or something out of disaster film. It's off the cuff, and an attempt at loosely moving on to the next psychological situation to move on the narrative.
Uncle Phil Posted 28 October 2012 Posted 28 October 2012 I also recommend doing this http://www.byzantiumtests.com/ He retweeted it the other week. It takes a little while but it's worth doing all 5 steps to see what you come up with at the end. That was a bit strange, I think I've been mindfvcked.
marko Posted 28 October 2012 Posted 28 October 2012 That was a bit strange, I think I've been mindfvcked. Good isn't it?! I changed my mind at literally the last second and drew it.
Uncle Phil Posted 28 October 2012 Posted 28 October 2012 Good isn't it?! I changed my mind at literally the last second and drew it. Me too, I was going to draw a stick man but decided to draw a tractor instead.
Matt Posted 30 October 2012 Posted 30 October 2012 The hypnotist Derren Brown has denied claims he used an actor in his latest programme Apocalypse. The show features a man called Steve Brosnan, who he convinces into thinking that zombies have taken over the world. Writing on Twitter, Brown said: "Conspiracy theory flying around that Steven is an actor, cos he looks like a guy in a noodle ad. I NEVER EVER fake stunts with actors. "Plus his whole family/friends would have to be actors too." Brown, 41, has to a video featuring Brosnan and Karl Greenwood, the actor some viewers claimed had appeared in the show instead."I've seen the ad - that is not Steven," he insisted. "That is an actor with dark eyebrows who does look hilariously like him, but isn't." The hypnotist also said it would have been a waste of time to fake the programme using an actor. "We spent months setting up Steven's experience, getting his family on board and spending a vast sum of money making it as convincing as possible for him and all our efforts making sure that he experienced a real transformation. "To fake all of that with an actor would be pointless." Unfortunatly Derren, I'm still sceptical.
Craig Posted 30 October 2012 Posted 30 October 2012 I knew straightaway that I wanted to draw a boat. I was set to click 'done' and then thought I should add some water Mind****.
Captain... Posted 30 October 2012 Posted 30 October 2012 It did look all fake and think the bloke they used did seem too much like an actor, I like Derren Brown and what he does, however the last few things i've had many question about and don't think were real/actors used. I want to see him live, I know someone who has seen him live and he said it was brilliant, atleast if its there live infront of you it seems abit more real, of course he could still use actors in a live show but still it's something i'd be interested in seeing. Why did you think he was an actor? I am always sceptical, but Derren has won me round, I've seen him live and I was just mindblown, the thing that struck me about the show was on the bus, everyone was acting apart from the main guy, who was just sort of a bit shocked and dazed, but not really screaming or acting scared, this is probably more likely to be how we would react not like actors do in movies. Secondly he was led around a bit by the girl, he was never really close to the zombies, the things I found odd were him finding the key to the door, and then being unable to close the ambulance door, was that deliberate or a mistake? I don't know how I or anyone else would react in that situation, he would probably being experiencing shock as well as having some hypnotic suggestions. I don't think it is fake, and when you see the things that can be done through hypnosis, it does make me wonder why they went to all the effort of making the set, they could easily just put him under and make him experience it, but then it wouldn't make such a good tv show.

I don't know just didn't 'fit right', seemed all abit fake, I don't know, like you say different people reacts are different, maybe that was his way of dealing with it but comes across to others as fake, wooden, or looked like acting - Maybe it was genuine reactions from him. I'm a big Derren Brown fan, have been for years and like I say would love to see him live.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 30 October 2012 Posted 30 October 2012 If he is an actor he's a fvcking good one.
marko Posted 30 October 2012 Posted 30 October 2012 If he is an actor he's a fvcking good one. He's not an actor.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 30 October 2012 Posted 30 October 2012 He's not an actor. never thought he was, his reaction looked far too real.
Deucalion Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 It crosses my mind that the trick is actually on us and he is an actor. Maybe we are the ones who will appreciate what we have through seeing what he goes through? Just a thought.
Tielemans63 Posted 31 October 2012 Posted 31 October 2012 .I also recommend doing this http://www.byzantiumtests.com/ He retweeted it the other week. It takes a little while but it's worth doing all 5 steps to see what you come up with at the end. That was weirdly accurate. Mine says 'Congratulations you are in the top 20% in the country' which is nice. I've no idea what I'm in the top 20% for but it's great to be up there nevertheless.

Guest Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 Did you complete all 5 tests ? As I'm sure when you do everyone is in the top 1%. Precisely. It was just advertising junk for a new series - Hunted. Now watched the first two programmes and not really sure if it's worth continuing too many failings in the story but at least there is some intrigue.

I watched the first episode but it didn't really hold me - I thought the character development was especially weak.
Carl the Llama Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 Me too, I was going to draw a stick man but decided to draw a tractor instead. And it claimed they'd made you draw that? Weird because I drew a cat and they claimed they'd told me to draw "an animal" (I drew a cat because mine was on my lap so I drew him).
Uncle Phil Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 And it claimed they'd made you draw that? Weird because I drew a cat and they claimed they'd told me to draw "an animal" (I drew a cat because mine was on my lap so I drew him). Yeah it claimed that. Although it said moving vehicle and my tractor was stationary, so I guess that's 1-0 to me
sphericalfox Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 And it claimed they'd made you draw that? Weird because I drew a cat and they claimed they'd told me to draw "an animal" (I drew a cat because mine was on my lap so I drew him). The picture is analysed and backward attributed to items they've deliberately chosen throughout the images/video you've seen. I would have thought there's enough implanted images to link to whatever you drew, bar a 'cocknballs'. But then you might not have drawn something like that as a child and put it on your fridge.
MooseBreath Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 I drew a cat which was shaped a bit like a stickman so they gave me the stickman crap. I had no intention whatsoever of drawing a stickman, it just happened that my cat drawing was very bad.
kylestyle06 Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 He's not an actor. It looks to me a bit of desperation from Darren Brown because he has been caught out and the guy really is an actor! It's all too fake for me unfortunately
