macfox Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 I've heard that Peter Jones is no longer at the Club. Does anyone know what the story is?
StanSP Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 I've heard that Peter Jones is no longer at the Club.Does anyone know what the story is? Ask the person who you heard from
Bert Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 It's true that he's no longer at the club. I heard the club didn't like what he was doing, so they slowly tried to get him out of the club, and succeeded. I think Ched may know more.
Sir Fynwy Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Standard football internal politics, various factions all trying to get one over on each other, Peter probably doesn't need the agro and has gone. There are some proper idiots at the club.

macfox Posted 28 September 2009 Author Posted 28 September 2009 Cheers Bert I've dealt with the bloke with a loads of fan's queries and stuff, and he was always a diamond. The only bloke down at the Club who gave a toss about the fans.

macfox Posted 28 September 2009 Author Posted 28 September 2009 Sorry mate I don't understand smiley talk. Thanks anyway.
davieG Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Who needs Peter Jones when you've got Blanderson as your mouthpiece.
Thracian Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 I heard the club didn't like what he was doing. What was he"doing"? I heard he'd joined Leicestershire County Cricket Club as a fielder! Cos he seemed to catch every question forwarded by the fans as a means of keeping them off other people's backs. But perhaps I got the wrong impression.
The Blur Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Cheers BertI've dealt with the bloke with a loads of fan's queries and stuff, and he was always a diamond. The only bloke down at the Club who gave a toss about the fans. I'll seconded that If this is true then it is a shame that he is gone, he even emailed me randomly once asking how are my parents doing, months after meeting us for a stadium tour
James. Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 I've only had two dealings with him (the flag and the run) and both times he was great. I did wonder why he was passing my e mails about the run on to one of his colleagues though.
Simi Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 I had heard this myself a few weeks back, but then heard from someone else that he was still there, but on shaky terms. If he has gone, I can understand why though. He had a tough job being as the club rarely took on board what was said.

I think Ched may know more. Very sad news. Only had a mail off him about a week ago. He was a top bloke and always very helpful.
Zingari Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 losing Max Gradel could be considered unfortunate , but losing Peter Jones as well seems to be downright careless
Shrenchel Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 As long as you didn't contact him about stewarding, standing, goal music or any other issue that goes against the club's beloved family funday approach then he was usually reasonably helpful. Never really liked him though.
whitlock Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Gutted, such a nice bloke. I ordered a picture of stevie howard celebrating after scoring against leeds so i sent the picture to Peter to get steve to sign it, he said it wasnt a problem. But when i recieved the picture back, i wasnt happy has steve had signed i over the crowd, therefore you couldnt make the signature out, jsut ruined the photo. So i emailed Peter back, thanked him and just said i wasnt too happy with the outcome. So he ordered me a new one and got steve to re sign it, free of charge. Chuffed with the new out come. such a nice bloke.
Daggers Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Lovely bloke - hands tied by the club - ultimately pointless.
samjohnson Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Personally... not had enough run-ins with him... Only spoke to him once... Slightly helpful, yet disappointed with the response... But from what ive heard, he was a nice bloke... Lets hope that a new replacement can be just as good

Fosse Boy Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 Never got back to me when I sent him an e-mail regarding goal music, but perhaps his hands were tied by the club on that issue rendering a response pointless?
davieG Posted 28 September 2009 Posted 28 September 2009 I wonder if they'll advertise for a "not nice" supporter liaison officer. They'll just want an arse licker who's comfortable in a flack jacket. (Note: I'm not suggesting this was Peter Jones, maybe that's why he's gone)
