Savage Wanted City Return

He's totally insignificant to me. I'm glad Nigel stood his ground and didn't sign the cunt.

I will certainly be clapping Savage, not booing.

He was on the football forum on Monday, and my opinion of him just goes up and up, I really do love him. Stated that he loved Leicester, and that Nigel Clough is like Martin O'Neill.

Hope our fans don't boo him - Give Iain Hume a massive reception when he returned (I didn't clap at all though) when he left when we were relegated, and then most probably not do the same for Savage.

Hope everyone claps him.

Love the man. Good man to have in the game.

Along with Izzet was my favourite Leicester player of that era, had him on back of my shirt couple of times. I hated him in the aftermath of that Birmingham game but I don't care anymore, I won't clap him but I won't boo him either, unless he does something during the game that requires me to give him some stick.

Glad we didn't sign him, and glad Pearson told Mandaric what to do.

Iain Hume is not a cunt. Robbie Savage is.

Same old same old......Cynical bitter Leicester fans...............One of our previous players who played in arguably our best ever midfield under MON Leicester fans loved him then why not now????

Badge kissing, nearly every footballer has done that at one time or another it means absolutely nothing. They are as loyal as their pay packets demand or warrant!

He deserves to be clapped on Saturday like everyone of our ex players, regardless for who they play for now.

For me, it wasn't the badge kissing that pissed me off, it was him running across to the referee when he had no reason too and got Matt Elliot sent off. I think I'm remembering it correctly.

I've now come to realise that thats just Savage on a football pitch and he's not going to change his style just because he's playing against us.

Our best ever midfield had Davie Gibson in it. And Robbie Savage to Gibson would be as Dobbin to Arkle. :D

I did say arguably thracian and I didn't mention Savage as being the best?

Just think it's sad that an ex player doesn't get the reception he deserves. After all we all loved him when he got Justin Edinburgh sent off in the coca cola cup final at Wembley when he went down like a sack of spuds when Edinburgh swiped and missed the side of his head??

Iain Hume is not a ****. Robbie Savage is.

Iain Hume left when the club was relegated for the first time ever to the third tier of English football.

Savage didn't because he wasn't part of that team.

It comes to something when I read a thread and maddog is the only person who appears to share my sentiments.

Which means I must be wrong.

So apologies to everyone else.

If Hume scored against us, he would've shown respect. Savage didn't when Birmingham played, He'd been with us for five years, we made Robbie Savage, plucked him from the football league, and made him into a well known Premiership player, then a year and a half into his Birmingham career, he kisses their badge at our ground. How you can still defend him is beyond me.

Yup.

Savage also fucked off when we were relegated, Hume was forced out, Savage wasn't.

If Little and McGhee can get grief from us (which they deserved at the time), there's no reason why Sav should escape.

His behaviour for the brummies in 03-04, in both fixtures, was disrespectful in the extreme. Yet he claims not to understand why we should boo him.

The sheep are welcome to him. I trust Wayne Brown will show him who's boss on Saturday.

He's only said it so he dosent get booed saturday.

Exactly.

What a coincidence he appears on there a few days before he's due to visit with his current team. No doubt he got the juices flowing with tales of the MON era. Did you go all misty eyed? What a great bloke he is.......

He said he wants to get booed because the more he gets booed the more he gets better. Just like what Dickov, Gerrard and Ronney play on.

Savage also fooked off when we were relegated, Hume was forced out, Savage wasn't.

And, about that stupid Hume thing, Nigel Pearson said on the DVD:

"In my first week here, we lost three players who played a part in last seasons campaign" he carries on by saying:

"I wasn't bothered who they were, if they wanted to go so be it".

So, then, three players, whos that, oh yes, McAuley, Stearman and Hume. So, all that cobblers about Hume being forced out I don't believe and I don't like any three of those players.

Did anyone read his interview in The Fox? The word deluded springs to mind.

Sorry, but screw off Savage you badge kissing jerkoff. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than watching you get worked up tomorrow because things aren't going your way. I didn't like you when you played for us and I like you even less now.

Think its fair to say mate, we got offered 1.2M for him we were relegated from the champ to league 1 and had a pretty big opperating loss. I dont think Nigel Pearson had much say in keeping those players seeing as they brought in nearly 4m between them

Gonna throw my hat into the ring here.

As a player, Savage is over the hill these days. He was a great servant to the club when he was here but those days are gone and it is best to keep them as memories. I can't help wondering if Dickov wishes he'd kept his stint here as a memory rather than try to repeat it. Did I like the fact that fans of every other club loathed Sav when he was here? I can't say I didn't, it was pretty funny after all and he loved to play up to it. His behaviour while playing for Birmingham though really underlined the fact that he was actually a bit of a dick rather than merely a wind-up merchant. A club where he was very well-liked by the fans deserved better than he showed when kissing the badge of his new club and I lost most of my respect for the man after that.

That's why I question his motives for this statement, if he wanted to come to Leicester at all last season it will have been because he couldn't get into the Derby side or any other Championship side on loan. His remaining option was to go on loan to a side in League One, a league it just so happened was topped by his former club. If Leeds had been top, he'd have been 'desperate' to go there, same with Huddersfield or even Franchise. That I can't blame him for, any player would rather be part of a winning side no matter what level. It's the fact that he has pretended he wanted to come here out of affection for the club rather than any other reason, and you can't help but feel he is insulting the intelligence of the fans here by hoping we have short memories. If we did, we wouldn't remember his first stint here and therefore would see the prospect of signing a 35 year old in the twilight of his career as a bad decision.

He can give us all the affectionate soundbites he likes, it's clear that any affinity he had with Leicester City left him when he left Filbert Street. I won't be booing him though as that will give him exactly what he wants by elevating his importance to us some seven years after he left. Total indifference will be my response as that is how I have come to feel about him.
