MPH Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 It does, I would just like to see his smug face when people started chanting that at him. That would hurt more than any boo. this was my thinking..
Thracian Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 I'm with MPH on this. That would be a far more pointed reception than any pointless booing which only tends to bring us down to his level. Football-wise Mattock was one of the least notable left-backs to wear our shirt. I didn't see him let us down much - apart from at Blackpool - but neither did he excel more than rarely and briefly. As mentioned by others I don't think he'd merit a place here now, nor even a place on the bench. In fact I wouldn't have called him particularly outstanding even in our Academy team and it is well known that I always thought of Sheehan as the better prospect and a far more dangerous attacking player. Today I'd never dream of picking him ahead of Berner, nor McGivern either once he gets settled. Having moved elsewhere and with his court case looming, Mattock has become a nothing to me both as a footballer and as a person and that won't change irrespective of the court's decision.
Karljohn Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 I will be opting to boo the tosser. And I think it may well be one of the most hostile of receptions for quite some time. Of course it'll never live up to a Filbert St reception but I'll certainly be letting him know my feelings.

If you're in the family stand or within earshot of it please don't boo as you'll upset the kiddies and more importantly their parents

Thracian Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 If you're in the family stand or within earshot of it please don't boo as you'll upset the kiddies and more importantly their parents It' s getting just as bad in parts of the South Stand. They'll be issuing sachets of oral disinfectant at the turnstiles soon.
Webbo Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 I can't understand all the hostility towards him. As I remember most people last season would have been happy if he'd never played for us again. As for what he said at the time he left most people on here thought we'd be lucky to stay up, nobody could could have argued that WBA weren't a better prospect.

As with most established ex-players except those of legendary status I'm totally indifferent towards them if they've chosen to leave then they're no longer on my radar and I ignore them. On the 'being nice' side there could be one or two ex-academy players who never quite made it at Leicester who I would clap. The only person who might receive a less than pleasant welcome would be Wise but even then I'm not sure it would be booing or the like as his type seem to relish in the notoriety.

davieG Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 its definately the court case for me and the charge of GBH against a woman... He's not yet been found guilty though.
milan_foxes Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 Just my opinion, but I think he's an arse. But I dont he'll do what Savage did against us, Mattocks still a Cock though.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 Split in two minds. He was worshipped as a god during his time at leicester, Until he left, and how he left.
Matt Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 I might give him one or two boos and bits of abuse but tbh i'm not that bothered over the saga, I wasn't really that sad to see him go, I never really rated him that much, I think he was very overrated, I had not bad feelings over him leaving, I did about the way he left after him saying "I'm Leicester through and through" e.t.c, but I wasn't as upset or angry as when other players have left in the past and compared to some people on here were when he left.

Thracian Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 He's not yet been found guilty though. Gerrard wasn't found guilty - doesn't mean I'm convinced he was innocent.
Bugg Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 Gerrard wasn't found guilty - doesn't mean I'm convinced he was innocent. TBH it was pretty obvious that Gerrard was guilty judging from the cctv evidence.
Thracian Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 He was worshipped as a god during his time at leicester. And Levi Porter will be our 2009-10 player of the season.
Jimmy Posted 4 November 2009 Posted 4 November 2009 He thinks you're shit He thinks you're shit He thinks you're Bruno thinks you're shit Banged up by Christmas You'll be banged up by Christmas Banged up by Christmas both of these could do with an airing

I'll boo him when his name gets read out, but Bruno's proved to be a hero for us this season so in a way I'm glad Joe's fucked off, cos no doubt he'd be playing instead of Bruno if not.
