Collymore Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Roberto Di Matteo is to launch a £2.5million raid on Championship rivals Leicester for striker Matty Fryatt. West Brom boss Di Matteo is ready to test the Foxes’ resolve to keep Fryatt, 23, with an ambitious bid in the New Year. Albion are desperate to bring in more firepower to boost their promotion drive despite being one of the leading scorers in the league. And Di Matteo is a long-term admirer of Fryatt - who has fired 10 goals already this season for Nigel Pearson’s side. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/West-...icle220145.html
Ashley Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Like we'd let our main goal scorer go to another championship or premiership club, for one who would we get who's on par or better than Fryatt? Paper BS AGAIN!
Fox You Forest Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Lets face it, that site is full of shit.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Lazy journalism at its best. Fryatt would only go to a Premiership club I reckon.
lildave3 Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Again? Wasn't it WBA that the £4m story was about last year?
Tommeh Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 Not that I think he's worth it but Fryatt in my opinion would not leave this club for less than £5m. These days it's pretty much the going rate for a prolific striker at championship level which now I'd say he is. Look at Chopra, David Connolly, Kenwyne Jones. Laughable rumour.
MPH Posted 12 November 2009 Posted 12 November 2009 we may laugh...... but money talks. If 2.5m is the opening bid i think MM would accept 3m
Mikey Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 we may laugh......but money talks. If 2.5m is the opening bid i think MM would accept 3m Didn't we supposedly reject 4m in the summer?
DanTheFox07 Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 This story is as fickle as the people who doubted fryatt`s ability time ago.
MPH Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Didn't we supposedly reject 4m in the summer? newspaper talk isn't all about what they make up. Agents contact newspapers to plant stories to drum up interest... Chairman do to instigate bidding wars and get the kind of price they want mentioned.... im sure fryatt will be subject to offers in Jan - why wouldn't he be?

Chairman do to instigate bidding wars and get the kind of price they want mentioned....im sure fryatt will be subject to offers in Jan - why wouldn't he be? Yes but as proved a while back, alot of the stuff they print is what they've dredged up from messageboards etc. Think it was Babs did it. Yes I'm sure there will be interest in Jan but if we're sitting where we are now at that point, why the hell would he go to WBA where he'd probably be less likely to play week in week out like he does here?
JimmyK Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 They've already got more strikers than they can deal with, I very much doubt this has any truth to it.
ozleicester Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 There will almost certainly be bids for Matty during the Jan window and if its a Prem club with a few $$ to spend, you can imagine both Matty and MM looking at it with interest. I think it is also going to depend on where we are in January and how we are playing, if we are genuine challengers for a Prem spot, then they would have to be insane to sell. If we are not genuine challengers, then the question remains, how much would it cost to replace Fryatt, not to mention if, in the current competition there is anyone who can?

Its one of the oldest tricks in the book.
skinnydipper Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 It must be time to ressurect the Simon Cox thread Mind you , didn't think much of his performance against us last Saturday
Bluefoxtim Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 This the most exciting story they can come up with?
Russell352 Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Balls to that. There's more chance of him going WBA than there is me sobering up in time for work
Raj Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Just been on Radio Leicester. So it must be true.
lou Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-s...97319-25160098/? Denied by WBA... not a surprise really
Dr The Singh Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-s...97319-25160098/?Denied by WBA... not a surprise really Load of poo, they have plenty of strikers, RDM, will be looking forward to buying prem class!!
Vo Rogue Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-s...97319-25160098/?Denied by WBA... not a surprise really MM probably just stimulating the market hoping genuine bids follow. Been done before.
calum_lcfc Posted 13 November 2009 Posted 13 November 2009 Matty won't go no way not in Jan, if he keeps scoring I expect intrest in summer if he stays in form and somehow we don't beat Blackpool in the play off final
